Irene Nadine's POV
I went upstairs in a daze and looked at the sleeping child on the bed in the light. I was still afraid of what Ryan Campbell said to me tonight.
I really don't want to lose this Theresa. I lifted the quilt and lay beside Theresa, holding her body in my arms.
Waking Theresa up, she frowned and mumbled, "what are you doing?"
Hiding the complex emotions in my heart, I just said softly, "mom wants to sleep with you."
The child couldn't help blaming me, "you are an adult. You don't dare to sleep alone."
I just curled my lips and felt that the children's disgust was also very warm. Theresa pulled the quilt over me and patted me on the head like an adult. "Sleep. I will protect you."
In the end, she muttered, "Coward mother."
"If I'm afraid, can you sleep with me from now on?"
"Okay." She answered perfunctorily with her eyes closed, as if she was sleepy.
