Pan lay on his back on the bed for hours contemplating the endless questions of what was happening might entail.
As for the little ball, she couldn't be less carefree and happy, sometimes she would get out of bed and run around the room, fussing here and there, sometimes she would climb into Pan's lap, other times she would just jump on his chest.
'So that's it "The Green Walker infused nature with its essence" that was the depth level.' Thought Pan, finally finding the answer to an old question.
He had already come up with some answers in those hours. First, Pan was now attached to what appeared to be the most bouncy Grass Mandrake that ever lived. Second, they were able to communicate, but not with sound language and its many rules, it was instinctive, natural, they felt what the other wanted to convey more clearly than any language could ever hope to be able to do. Third, the little ball was a bottomless pit, perhaps because it was young and in a "growing phase" Pan needed to feed it a lot of essence every few hours or it would start throwing a tantrum. Fourth but not least, he had to decide on a name for his new friend.
'Pedro?' Thought Pan but the little ball grunted in displeasure.
'Jack? Neither?'
'Hmm, how about Alphonse? Not too?'
'Mavis?' Asked Pan thinking of something.
And as he thought, the ball squealed with joy, it seemed to like the name.
'Feminine? Are you a girl then? But do roots have sex?' Pan asked but the little plant didn't know the answer either.
It seems that she took part in Pan's human concepts by connecting by essence and only understood herself in the feminine.
After deciding on the name and finding answers to some questions, Pan decided to do some tests.
'Use the root of chaos to attack the wall, not too hard, we don't have the money to pay damages.' Assad Pan, and a moment later a tangle of roots came out of Mavis's arm and slammed into the wall, causing the room to shake a little.
And even though Mavis conted herself, a large, web-like crack formed in the wall. But Pan couldn't stop smiling when he saw the scene. Besides, he just had to convince Edward not to tell anyone, no one came to his room anyway and the tremor was too short to be noticed to the point where someone came to investigate.
'The base of this structure is very good.' Pan thought, still smiling.
Ideas like having an army of Grass Mandrakes at his command soon came to mind. But he discarded it as quickly as it came.
'It consumes a lot of essence.' Thought Pan. He spent half the day "talking" and testing things out with Mavis. In that time she took almost a fifth of Pan's essence to feed.
'If she sleeps with me and doesn't feed in her sleep, that means two-fifths of my essence will always stay with Mavis.' Thought.
"Master Pan!!!" Yelled Edward, rushing through the door.
'Of course he would notice.' Thought Pan.
"Don't worry Eddie, I'm fine," Pan said with a goofy smile on his face and Mavis followed him, squealing happily over his right shoulder.
Hearing that Pan was fine the butler calmed down, but soon the panic returned to his features, he looked at Pan smiling and then at Mavis, then back at Pan and vice versa and then… He passed out.
"Come on Eddie, wake up," said Pan shaking the butler.
'Did he die of fright?' Pan thought with amusement, making Mavis roll over and laugh.
Despite the appearance, this was not the case. The butler ended up waking up alone half an hour later, only to nearly pass out from the stress again at the sight of Mavis wrapped around Pan's chest like a backpack.
"Stay calm Edward," said Pan.
"Aham," coughed the butler, then closed his eyes to clear his mind "Oh what would that be Master Pan?" Asked Edward after taking a few deep breaths and calming down.
"You see, this little one is called Mavis, we're bonded to each other now," Pan replied to which Mavis squealed and rocked back and forth in agreement.
"Is this… Is this even possible?" Asked the butler in a weak voice.
"Apparently, yes," replied Pan.
After that, Pan gave a summary of what happened, while keeping the key parts to himself.
"So we decided on the name together and the rest you know," clarified Pan.
He even thought about keeping the mandrake hidden, but it was simply impossible, it was only a matter of time before someone found out and spread it anyway.
"I see… Wait! that means the master created an aspect! A skill of its own essence!" Edward said almost jumping and Mavis soon followed, refusing to pass up any chance of jumping around.
"And, I think so," replied Pan.
