Chapter 3.

The curious looks on their face meant they need an explanation from these men who seems like thugs in cooperates. They all had batons on their hands ready to beat up anyone on their way.

"Who are you guys?" Daniel asked glaring at them and right before their eyes, they paved way for a man on a white suit who bounced towards them. He had sunglasses on and curled perm hair, his grey hair around his jaw could tell he was an elder who was younger than his age, chubby and tanned skin made him look like one who had drown himself in an ocean of wealth.

"Do I need an introduction lady and gentle man?" He mocked as he ordered the men to get inside the building and drag any being they found but these two were stopping him.

"What are you here for! Stay back!' Natalie snarled and one of the men in black pushed her to fall on Daniel who aided her to rise and then got set to beat up the man that dare laid his hands on her but he was stopped by the neighbors who were trooping out.

"Go to your work place okay we would handle it" Laura beckoned, she was the oldest here and seem to know the man on suit.

"It concerns us too" Natalie snapped and Daniel affirmed to that.

"You just can come here and claim you want to demolish our building! Who gave you the rights!" Adam began stepping ahead as Natalie and Daniel stood behind him.

"I have given you much time old friends and you're testing my patience!" He barked motioning on his men to knock down anyone on his path but the occupants wouldn't give in. Meanwhile the caretaker was just returning from the morning exercise which he never misses just to look fit. He had seen the thugs and he's neighbors clashing and quickly, he raced at them to quell the conflict. All he had to do was to have a private discussion with the man on white suit who goes by the name blade.

"More like demon to me!" Natalie snapped. They had gotten to the quite late and Natalie was fond of that just that recently, Daniel makes her come earlier than expected.

"We need to concentrate, forget about what happened earlier" he whispered loading boxes to be delivered in his hands while leaving Natalie alone to mumble to herself. She groaned and blocked her ears with earpieces listening to her favourite idol's music to wade off negativity. It pissed her off that the owner of the duplex had sold it for demolishing to blade who desired to start up a company there out of the blue and the occupants were ready to fight for their rights. The thought of calling her parents rang in her head, she grimaced and gave a try which of course was a positive response.

"Oh my baby girl! I never thought you would remember me, have you eaten? Hope you're okay, your dad's furious with you, oh goodness..." She listened the questions her mother flooded her with which got her sniffing.

"I'm sorry mom, well I was busy that's why" she said closing her eyes. Lying to her parents that she was at college was a piece of cake because the illiterate parents of hers believes every word she say. Education was key and that was all they wished for their kids even though they didn't have enough fundings, they still tried their very best to see to it that their children finished their studies, get a suitable job and settle down with a family. For her brother, he finished he's education and getting a job was difficult besides he hates anything that stressed him and resulted to gambling. As for Natalie, she preferred working to education, dreaming to studying yet she still wants to liberate her parents for the hard life they were going through. Sincerely, she was poor in studies no matter how hard she tried, the only assumption she could come up with was; schools weren't made for her!

The call she had with her mother lasted for an hour, from the looks of it, they were all talkative in their family. She was done with her delivery and closed before Daniel just to make it for tonight's concert but unfortunately, the money was gone! It made her heartbroken because certainly her brother would have broken in again. He left a letter of apology though stating that he would refund it sooner. Oh no! This was her only chance of seeing her superstar and now it slip off her hand.

Life goes on with so many people giving up on their dreams and Natalie was beginning to fall in their league. That evening, the caretaker Henry gave her an offer to clean up the room next door for pay and she accepted, at least that would keep her mind off from crying that she missed the concert. The room was just opposite hers and so it wouldn't stress. She took a mirror along with her, locked herself inside and began to cry, she wasn't brave afterall.

"Oh my Damian, my heart aches for true love and I missed it yet again!!!" She wailed and soon the doorbell rang. Quickly, she wipe her tears and got the door opened. They were interior designer who brought in equipments to set-up. Her guess was perhaps this fellow was a wealthy person and she hoped it was a lady who she could become friends easily with. The new neighbor picked the largest apartment here and perhaps it must be a family. A fake smile was all she needed to do till these set of people were done. Too bad they left the queen of destruction behind. The first thing her hands saw to set off its wrath on was the silver lamp which sat on a desk. Seems luck was on her today as the lamp didn't break, steadily, she picked the lamp and placed on its spot admiring it.

"Too good am good" she praised herself as she turned her gaze to the bed and jumped on it.

"So puffy" she exclaimed rolling to and fro.
