After that, it was black from the other end of the screen.

Her brain and body froze for three seconds before it started registering in her head about what had happened.

The temporary tent where the victims huddled together while the reinforcement from the South Manor took over the battle was blown up by the strike of the bolt.

Lance Hua and Gin were there, the former attended to the latter since Gin was heavily wounded. What about Azure Ao's body, though?

Chiaki dialled the connection again. The beam was still recharging, she had time to check with the people.

Lance Hua didn't pick up, so she decided to call Commander Kay, Azure Ao's right-hand man. The guy picked up his holodev and projected the screen mid-air so Chiaki could have a video call with him.

"Commander Kay, how's the situation there? I can't reach my team and the tent was blasted by a lightning bolt. Have you heard anything about Lance Hua and Gin?"
