Chapter 6

"You have beautiful eyes, and such beautiful eyes shouldn't be in tears all the time." Damon looked at her, his azure eyes holding a light of consideration.

"Do you notice my value?" Evelyn huffed, her body trembling slightly, a few strands of messy hair sliding down her cheeks with the movement.

Damon approached her slowly, the clatter of his leather shoes extraordinarily clear in the hall. He didn't look too much at Evelyn's body, but gazed at her always sad face and calmly reached out with both hands to cup her tear-stained cheeks. He used his rough fingers to dry her tears, a subtle gesture that made the coldness of his body diminish a little and revealed a rare gentleness.

Evelyn looked up, her eyes filled with tears, and pleaded once more, "Please don't send me back."

"You seem more afraid of your father than Blood Thirsty pack's Alpha?" Damon said.

Evelyn spoke brokenly, "If I am sent back, I will be a disgrace to the entire pack."
