Chapter 7

The black Bentley merged into the traffic and drove forward together, but Eloy had no idea what lay ahead, although she tacitly assumed Felix would take her back to school; after all, this car wash engagement was over.

"Is it okay to do me a favor? It'll pay." He looked through the rearview mirror at her, whose thoughts had drifted to nowhere, so he added, "I need a female companion."

Her face fell, and her heart didn't feel as light as it had before. She often reflected on whether she was a little too nervous, and ever since she'd had an extra secret between her and him, she'd been unusually sensitive to certain words, whether it was compensation before, or a female companion now, and she couldn't help but think of these normal words in unusual directions.

But for each of her reflections, she came to the same conclusion that the problem was definitely not with her, this man made everything more complicated, and if he had not come to see her, everything after that would not have happened.

"Can I be your female companion?" She gestured at her tight T-shirt and ripped jeans. "Whatever you need a female companion for, I can't be up to it, can I?"

His eyes narrowed to a narrow line in the mirror, then agreed with her, "You have a point."

She thought he had given up, and her heart suddenly felt a small loss, but for such an emotion she thought it was well interpreted. Originally, she was also a young lady from a rich family, or else an ordinary, normal family. It was the status of an illegitimate daughter that stuck her in such an awkward position, so she was easily jealous of what he had, such as his wealth and his freedom.

The vehicle made an abrupt turn and a few blocks passed quickly, and she felt more and more that she had strayed from the direction of her return to school. Her school was in the suburbs, not downtown.

"Where are we going to go? Just drop me off at the nearest subway station if that's not convenient, and I can take the subway back to school."

"Almost there."

He replied very simply and pulled into a busy street, the car eventually slowing to a stop in a street parking space.

"Here we are, get out of the car."

Eloy could only do as he was told, and she was hesitant to wait and see how she could refuse him with a strong gesture.

He waited for her in front and she had to jog a few steps and follow him.

"Mr. Felix, I think..."

"Here it is," he interrupted her, "Do you have any favorite type? You can tell the shop clerk when the time comes."

The shop clerk? When she looked up and saw the sign, she was surprised to find out that this was a Chanel store.

"I've heard that women at your age would prefer this brand, so don't worry, I'll pay for it."

She didn't have much interest in this brand, mainly of course because her current salary couldn't support both her studies and luxury spending.

"What exactly do you need a female companion for?" Her hand held by him was also resisting hard, "I can only play the piano, sing pretty much, and nothing else."

Her last sentence was spoken with great force, and her pretty eyes were full of anger as she glared at him.

She was so belligerent and cute that the corners of his mouth couldn't help but rise up along with her.

"I need female companionship for dinner, do you possess this skill?"

"Just dinner?" She asked in a small voice, not expecting it to be something as simple as that, which made her seem a bit unreasonable.

"If you want to do something else, I'm willing to accompany."

His eyes narrowed along with his bad smile, but this smile was again very bright. His wealth aside, he was also very distinguished by his good looks. She had heard long ago that his mother, Amanda, was a retired supermodel, and she had inherited a very privileged condition for her son, with his deep eyes, three-dimensional features, and his sexy lips. If he could be less serious in general, there could be more women surrounding him, but of course, she would not be among them.

She glared at him, then deflated and averted her eyes.

Although he always teased her, he did not hesitate at all when it came to paying out money.

The clerk recommended the classic suit for her, black on top and pink on the bottom, which was both playful and cute without losing its calm temperament. She looked at her in the mirror and was somewhat surprised by the magnitude of the change in her aura.

He happened to pick up his coffee just as her dressing and grooming ended, and the moment the clerk lifted the curtain, a woman with slightly curly hair and delicate eye makeup walked toward him, dressed in an expensive but at the same time perfectly cut dress, and even the shyness and shortness on her face was very attractive.

His last gaze went down to her canvas shoes, and his face, which had been stretched out, suddenly frowned again, "Find her a pair of suitable shoes."

Finally, Felix led the newly dressed Eloy to the restaurant. The restaurant looked to have the same expensive decor and she was slightly nervous. Only her half-brother would bring him to a restaurant like this, otherwise it would be her first time.

Felix offered his arm in time, and she didn't hesitate to take it to avoid making a fool of herself.

But since she was his companion, the responsibility of holding up the scene was all on him, so she had nothing to worry about. Perhaps she still had to worry, such an occasion although it was difficult to meet her teachers or classmates, but there was definitely the possibility of meeting the Fox family. She stayed close to him, still with her head half down, avoiding everyone who passed by.

"Who are you hiding from, Klem Bird?" He also lowered his head slightly and said this very suddenly with a sideways glance.

The gesture was very ambiguous, but the name made her ignore it, and she immediately inclined her head to look at his face. There was nothing unusual about his expression, very frank and calm, but wasn't he always that frank in everything he did?

Perhaps it was just as he said, his huge social circle made it completely unnecessary for him to investigate a person, just had a meal or a cup of coffee with a friend, or did not need to do anything, just sat and waited for a phone call. Let him get all the information about her in such a simple way, even those parts that she didn't know he can easily grasp, then he could help her find out what happened within the Fox family at the time of her mother's death?

"What's wrong? Did I get it right?"

She snapped back, and she tugged on his arm unhappily as she continued on her way.

"No, your guess is completely wrong, he and I have broken up."

That was a half-right guess, Felix had always wondered what kind of man a woman like her could fall in love with, she had actually been in love with Bird, and Felix still had those uncomfortable feelings in his heart.

"Who was that?" He was still very curious and insistent on trying to dig this person out.

Eloy took his arm, her heels were a little high and she was walking fast, and in the impatience of emotions piling up to the extreme, she landed unsteadily, her body swayed along, and she nearly fell over.

Her mind flashed through too many things, the most important thing was to save the wrist, they must not be broken, so she closed her eyes and waited for a tragic fall.

But without the expected pain, she landed firmly in a warm, soft embrace.

"What are you doing?" Felix wrapped his arms around her waist and held her tightly in his arms. He noticed her hands tightly protecting her chest; was this woman planning to fight hard?

"Just almost fell." Her voice was dull, and although she answered very indifferently, one could hear that she was in shock. His heart softened, and instead of being a gentleman and letting go of the woman in his arms, he let her lean on his arms to soothe the panic.

He raised his hand to reject the waiter who came to ask if he needed help, but with a wink of his eye he saw the woman who was watching him from afar.

Olivia was still as beautiful and elegant as ever, she had a new hairstyle, her short, sharp hair clinging to her pretty face, she was wearing a sharp apricot trench coat and shoes in the same color, the only soft color she was remembered to wear.

"Easing up?" He patted the woman in his arms gently, and she looked like a scared kitten, lifting her wet eyes in his arms.

"I'm sorry, I'm all right now." With that she left his embrace and stood next to him with some backwardness.

His hand was still around her waist and he gave it a soothing squeeze, "Then I'll introduce you to today's mission, the one in front is the guest we're having dinner with today, her name is Olivia, she's from the Sharp family, the one you know."

Eloy looked up in a panic before noticing a woman standing in the distance. Seeing their gaze, Olivia, who had stopped a short distance away, walked towards them.

Was it actually a lady? Then what was the significance of Felix bringing a female companion? She peeked at him, but she still couldn't tell his emotions at the moment by his facial expression.

She couldn't figure him out.
