Chapter 62

''That is none of your business at all,'' Susan told Richard.

''It's none of my business? Why are you exposing these kids to such adult reality at their young age?'' Richard asked Susan again. He could not forget how Judy kept on counting the number of men that were interested in Susan. ''I heard that you have so many suitors,'' he added.

''And who told you that?'' Susan asked him. She wondered why he appeared to be so upset.

''The kids told me that. Michael and Judy,'' Richard replied.

''Ridiculous,'' Susan replied. ''Don't tell me you are going to take kids' words seriously, to the extent that your face is looking all sullen and what not,'' she told Richard.

Richard was pale with anger. Susan had crossed the line several times with the way she spoke to him without any iota of respect. Nobody, since Richard was born, and not even as a kid, had ever had the effrontery to talk to him the way Susan had become used to.
