Chapter-27 British Airways Johannesburg-Doha

Akiko followed from a safe distance. She watched Andalas walked quickly to the rear toilet in the economy class. Akiko pretended to be queuing for the toilet and sat on an empty seat by the window.

Akiko took out her gadget. Pretending to be making a vlog, but in fact she was using it as a rearview mirror so that she could observe Andalas's movements.

The man walked slowly down the aisle in the economy class while wincing in pain. His sharp eyes looked wild shifting rapidly left and right.

As Andalas entered the business class cabin, Akiko followed behind casually and steadily. Many passengers were standing and walking back and forth to relieve fatigue from long-haul flight, so what Andalas and Akiko were doing seemed to be mundane and normal.

In this cabin, Andalas did the same thing. His eyes were searching here and there with a furrowed brow and a mouth that seemed to be in pain.

The business class cabin was done. Andalas repeated his behavior in the first-class cabin. After that, he sat back in his chair quietly as if nothing had happened.

Akiko walked calmly towards her seat behind Andalas. The young doctor was even more alert because several times she caught him wincing in pain. Maybe that was a sign. She felt that the situation would lead to something bad for everyone on board. Andalas had abilities beyond an average human, and they were currently at thousands of feet above the ground. If he ever reached peak symptoms right there and then, the flight would be in jeopardy. Akiko lowered the zipper of her jacket so she could reach her kaiken easily.

Cecilia was still in a deep sleep. She was dreaming that the quarantined cities had reopened. But the number plastered on a giant billboard made her gape. 1.5 Billion casualties! Cecilia was tangled in despair and rage in her sleep.

Akiko saw that Andalas was agitated. His hands were gripping the armchairs tightly. His body seemed to stiffen. Several times Akiko heard Andalas was taking deep breaths despite his efforts to soften the sound.

Akiko fingers were on the hilt of her kaiken.

Andalas suddenly stood up and was about to walk to the back. The first-class cabin was not fully seated. There were only four people out of eight seats, so when Akiko tackled Andalas's leg, who was not alert until he fell, did not disturb the sleeping male passenger. Cecilia was still asleep in her troubling dream. The flight attendants were not visible.

Akiko nimbly twisted his arms behind him. Tie them with shoelaces that she prepared earlier. Quickly pulled her kaiken and pointed it to Andalas' eyes. Without saying anything, Akiko grabbed the pathogen detector from her pocket.

Andalas, who was caught off guard and had no idea how fast Akiko was moving, laid still when Akiko scanned his entire body using a pathogen detector. He was more worried with Kaiken's sharp tip that could stab him in the eye if he put up a fight.

The pathogen detector remained silent! There was no indication of any pathogens on the monitor screen!

Akiko hesitated for a moment and checked to make sure the device was working properly. Andalas took advantage of the moment to shift away from the kaiken and pinch Akiko's neck with both legs.

They immediately involved in silent close body struggle. If she really wanted, she could stab the kaiken into Andalas' neck because it had a spring mechanism in its hilt. And if Andalas wanted to, he could easily break Akiko's neck in one go.

None of them did either. The plane was shaking heavily several times. Apparently the large-bodied plane was experiencing turbulence. While Andalas and Akiko were still struggling with each other's defenses and anticipating each other movements.

"What the fuck is going on! Hey, what are you guys doing?"

Cecilia grabbed Akiko's wrist and pulled Andalas' leg. The two of them couldn't help but let go of each other and stood up breathless. It was a life-and-death fight in silence.

Cecilia pulled the two people's hands and sat Akiko in her own chair while Andalas was forced to sit in hers.

"Well?" Cecilia stood staring at the two in turn with bulging eyes asking for an explanation.

"Sorry Cecil, I thought Andalas was having some symptoms of BA infection. I took precautions by holding him and then scanning his body." Akiko was the first to give an explanation. Her breathing had returned to normal. She slipped her kaiken back into its place.

"And then?" Cecilia still didn't fully understand.

"No! No dangerous pathogens were detected in his body. I just guessed wrong and was on guard because Andalas was injured by a leopard with BA right? Do you remember?"

Cecilia was in the state of utter shock! She completely missed that part! Oh, God!

"That's what happened. I'm sorry. I was just keeping us safe," Akiko glanced at Andalas who had returned to his original expression. Cold as ice.

Cecilia took a tool from her handbag. A small flashlight. He examined Andalas' pupils carefully then forced the man to open his mouth. No symptoms.

Suddenly Cecilia felt her mind was hit by a lightning strike. She looked at Akiko with a strage expression. It was hard to tell whether it was an expression of enthusiastic or anxious.

"Your fight turned out to be an important part of our work Akiko! This means Andalas is immune! We have to examine him!" Cecilia moved her body to dance in front of Andalas who suddenly stood up.

Cecilia's dancing stopped the moment Andalas launched himself toward the only first-class passenger other than themselves who was pointing a silenced gun at Cecilia's head.
