I pulled away from the kiss that married us and the crowd cheered. May and I laughed and hugged each other, tightly. Once we left the embrace I made a silver crown with intricate curls and heart diamonds appear next to me. May gasped and I placed it on the headband of her veil. "I love you, my queen." May kissed me again and tried not to cry. "I love you, my king."
After the wedding, there was a large celebration where May and I got to dance for hours with the rest of our kingdom. May danced with her father and my mother stole a dance from me. The party continued through the night and was lit by the many flowers that surrounded us. When it became too late, May and I returned to our castle as man and wife and as we walked through the dark halls I only had one thing on my mind.
May had been so busy planning the wedding that it had been nearly a month since I last made love to her, and with how beautiful she looked today I wanted nothing more than to get to our room. Once we entered the bedroom I grabbed her waist and pulled her against me. We kissed each other deeply and I smiled sensually down at her as I pulled away. "Wanna get pregnant tonight?" May blushed and looked away, nervously. "I think it would be quite hard to get pregnant twice."
It took a second before I realized what she was telling me. My eyes widened and she smiled excitedly. "You're, pregnant?!" May nodded and I lifted her in the air, happily. "I can't believe it!" May wrapped her arms around my neck and I carried her to the bed. I laid her on the sheets under me and leaned closer again. "We have to celebrate." May laughed and we carried each other into pleasure for the rest of the night.
Reinthoria only became better after that day and I didn't think I could get any happier until my son was born, and thereafter my daughter. They were both born with fairy wings but their ears were rounded like a human's. They were my world and May felt the same. I named our son Rin who had bright red hair and red wings, and May named our daughter Anilese who had brown hair and pink wings just like her mother.
Magic made my part of parenting a lot easier than it should've been, and May was as nurturing and loving to them as I imagined she would be. I was happy that I could give her everything she always wanted, and I loved watching her with our children. One early morning I awoke to my six-year-old son jumping onto our bed and poking me in the face. "Dad! Wake up!!" I then grabbed his hand and flung him to his mother's side of the bed. "Apparently, face poking runs in the family!" I grabbed a pillow and put it over my head. May was awake now and had trapped Rin in a hug of death. "Good morning my cutie baby boy!" Rin struggled, desperately. "Mom, no! Let me go! I'm not a baby! Ah!"
I then felt my five-year-old daughter climb on top of me and try to shake me awake. "Daddy! Daddy!" I sighed underneath my pillow. "Do you two know what time it is?" Rin nodded. "Of course! It's six o'clock!" May gasped. "You're so smart telling time like that!" I groaned. "And here I thought they were dumbasses, turns out they're just assholes!" Anilese then lifted the pillow from my face and smiled at me with her big green eyes. "Good morning, Daddy!"
I hesitated and pulled her down to hug me. "Okay, I take it back. Only Rin's the asshole." Rin shouted in response. "Shut up, old man! You promised you'd take me on a flight with Saniel to see the forests, remember?!" I sighed again. "Why do kids remember everything?" May laughed a little. "You'd better get going. Moments like these don't last forever." I sat up tiredly and traded kids with May. I kissed her before taking Rin by his waistline and carrying him out the door as he struggled. "Hey! Put me down!"
I used my magic to get dressed and took Rin outside where Saniel was waiting for us. I dropped Rin and he stopped himself from falling by using his wings. His fit of anger was over and it was replaced by excitement as he flew onto Saniel's back. "This is going to be awesome!!" I climbed onto Saniel after him and made him sit down in front of me. "Stay seated unless you want to lose a wing." Rin turned to me, excitedly. "Really? How fast does he go? Is it true that Mom hung off the back of his tail a thousand feet in the air?!"
I nodded. "The woman's a barnacle. Once her grip is tight there's no point in trying to get her off." Rin shuddered. "I know. I'm a victim of that hold every twenty minutes!" I laughed a little and messed up his hair. "That's only because you're so darn cute." Rin swiped his hair out of his face and grumbled. "Can we get off the ground now?" I nodded at Saniel and he took off right after. "Ah!!" Rin was surprised at how fast we were going and once we flew above the clouds Rin's excitement grew.
Even though I complained, I enjoyed showing my son the view that I've loved ever since I first saw it. The sunrise lit up the entire sky and reflected off of the clouds, giving the impression that we were flying through fire. Rin raised his hands in the air as he enjoyed the wind on his face. "Woo hoo!" I laughed and Saniel went on to take us through all of the forests.
The creatures and humans below waved to us and we waved in return. Rin's eyes were full of wonder as he experienced his first time outside of the castle, but after a while he became silent. "What's on your mind, kiddo?" I asked once I noticed his lack of speech. "...Do you think the stone will choose me to be the next king?"
I wrapped my arms around him and smiled as he looked up at me. "Well, that depends. If you're strong, determined, and know what is truly important, I'm sure the stone will see it in you. But if it doesn't, that doesn't mean you should stop fighting for what you think is right. Just know that I didn't receive my power from the stone. True power is given by those around you who make you want to become better for them."
Rin hesitated. "Is that why you always call Mom your light?" I nodded. "She is my everything. Without her, I'd still be consumed by my curse, and this beautiful world we live in wouldn't exist today." Rin then smiled and turned to the view in front of us. "Tell me the story again Dad. How did you and Mom meet?" I smiled and pulled my son closer to me. "It all started when I was a spoiled brat who had enough of my parents' bullshit..."
