Person from the Past

Albert believed she was acting coldly toward him in order to maintain her cold CEO image. But her next sentence smacked him across the face.

"You lack the drive to become the strongest. I'm not seeing that spark in you." She paused before adding, " The answer to your question is, Yes, I am looking down on you. You didn't understand the meaning behind my words."

Albert realizes she truly lives up to her image. She was a ruthless woman, but he didn't mind. His desire to be close to her grew even stronger. "It appears that I need to learn more from you. If you don't mind, would you mind being my partner tonight?"

"Will you stop bothering me if I say no?" She wants to see if this man dares to take 'no' or does he has that famous male ego

Before Angelina could hear his reply a hand slipped around her waist making her stunned. "I apologize. But she's my partner tonight."

Angelina turned around to see Andrew standing behind her, pulling her closer to him.

"Mister, I noticed she came to this banquet with her assistant. So how did you suddenly become her partner?" Albert felt uneasy seeing Andrew so close to Angelina. He wishes to keep them apart.

Andrew looked at the eyesore... ahem, Albert, and then look down to see Angelina, who was only there to watch the show. She was also anticipating his response.

"I was swamped with work and asked to meet her later. I hope you don't get in the way of true lovers." Andrew lied without batting an eye.

Albert was surprised. "Miss Angelina, is what he was saying true?" he asked in disbelief.

Angelina was becoming irritated after conversing with him. He looked at her as if she had cheated on him. And the person next to him was shamelessly lying. "It has nothing to do with you, Mr. Albert? She turned to face Mr. Austin and said, "I will take my leave."

She and Andrew walked away from there. Mr. Andrew relaxedly regarded their residing back. He exhaled after holding his breath for a long time. His son was the reason that he thought today would be his last birthday. He'd done so many stupid things today that nearly make him went in the door of heaven.

"What did you think you were doing just now? Don't even think about coming up with a stupid plan against her." Mr. Austin stated solemnly.

Albert ignored his warning and inquired, "What is the relationship between them?"

"It's none of your business what relationship they have." Mr. Austin could tell his son was interested in Angelina. He would have quiet confidence in his son if it were any other woman. But he was not a good match for Angelina.

Mr. Austin remembered the man who had taken Angelina with him when his son reminded him. He appears to be very familiar. He remembered that person was a superstar named Andrew. He had no idea whether they were dating or not. However, for some reason, he believes they complement each other.

Andrew, on the other hand, followed Angelina, sensing a lot of burning gaze directed at them. He didn't want to cause any trouble, but when he saw Albert approaching her. He lost his cool and was afraid of losing her. Call him insane. But what can one do if he unexpectedly loses something precious?

Angelina came to a halt at a sparsely populated intersection. They were both standing there silently. Andrew was ashamed of what he had done. He had no idea where to begin the conversation. He mustered the courage to ask, "How are you doing?"

Angelina narrowed her eyes and looked at him. "It appears that you have found what you were searching for."

He looked at her, perplexed. He couldn't figure out what she was trying to say.

Angelina drew her hands in front of her. "COURAGE. You've discovered your COURAGE. That had been missing for a week. When did we start dating? I had no idea about this."

Andrew scratched his nose to avoid making eye contact with her. "I was very busy."

"I will give you another chance. Make a brilliant excuse that I can absolutely believe." She wasn't giving him a chance to run away this time.

He knew that no excuse would persuade her. "I'm sorry," he said after taking a deep breath. "I didn't mean to keep my distance from you. I was just trying to give you some breathing room and time to process my confession. And…" he said after a brief pause, "I was afraid of your rejection."

He told the truth about everything. He didn't hear anything from her after a while. He looked at her and noticed she was looking somewhere else.

He turned to look in the direction she was looking. He couldn't see anything, though. She appears to be lost in thought, and he can sense a shift in her emotions.

"Angelina," he called out, but she didn't respond. He gently tapped her shoulder.

The unexpected touch brings her back to her senses. She noticed Andrew's concerned expression on his face. "What did you say?"

"You were so preoccupied with your thoughts that you didn't even hear what I was saying." He looked at her dazed expression. "You look disturbed," he said, running his hand through his hair. "Are you all right?"

"I'm fine. All I need is some fresh air. Please leave me alone." She said it with a straight face.

Andrew had the impression that she was attempting to put distance between them. He could feel a defensive wall that she had built around herself.

"Angelina." He grabs her wrist in an attempt to restrain her. "Is there anything bothering you? If my confession makes you feel uneasy?" He probed every possible cause of her emotional shift.

Angelina was about to respond when she heard a voice behind them.

"Is that you, Angelina? I mistook you for someone else."

Angelina froze for a moment when she heard that voice. She turned around to face that person.

"It's been a while." That person said with a soft smile on her face.

Andrew could tell Angelina was irked to see the stranger who appeared out of nowhere.
