A Promise Made

Tokyo, Japan,

Shibuya,

Samuel POV,

Samuel rubbed his chin in thought looking up at the clear blue sky, however, before he could proceed his phone started buzzing, sounds of gunfire came off it, prompting Samuel to pull the device out and put it to his ear rather quickly.

Hayasaka subconsciously nodded in approval, he had good taste if that was his ringtone. Things like these had a calming effect on the maid.

The noise however, did manage to startle the few people passing by them at the moment and gazes of curiosity and annoyance were directed towards Samuel.

Just a few minutes later, he was done with the call and put it back in his pocket.

The call was from Tsukuyo asking for an explanation regarding what had happened and he told it as it was,.. well not exactly, he explained it as him needing to transfer due to certain personal reasons not wanting the girl to throw a tantrum about it or something and reassured that they could maintain contact over phones, maybe hang out every once in a while too.

'How about just sucking it up and letting your parents do their job.' Echidna commented, providing for education and shelter up to a certain point was the job of the parents in this world after all.

Samuel's lips slightly twitched in response but nothing major, it was his own decision to support himself... wait, he had decided to support his own personal expenditures. Education was somewhat exempt from that so he could in fact rely on them regarding it and manage the other expenses by himself.

Of course, thinking deeply it was rather simple, the education he needed to run the family 'business' couldn't exactly be found anywhere. There was probably an academy or something for rich kids that he needed to attend.

"Senpai, you've had this really thoughtful look for a bit now. Is it really bothering you?" Hayasaka asked worriedly, in hindsight, a person of his background would never show their real emotions and it was a definite that he was probably upset and ashamed about what had happened.

"I'd be lying if I said it is." Samuel replied offhandedly, nodding to himself as he came to the conclusion that he would choose to entrust his father with any and all matters regarding education. "I was just thinking about my future."

"Wow, senpai is talking like a real grown up. Don't tell me you have to inherit the family business or something?" She 'joked' giggling before realising, she may have just blown it to shreds.... considering Samuel stopped in place and was now staring at her with a pensive smile.

'She's too sus. Emergency meeting.'

Samuel facepalmed, the sound was fairly audible as well, startling Hayasaka.. Samuel felt he needed to punish the witch.

'Tee-hee.'

Samuel questioned God.

Anyway back to real life, "You got it right surprisingly." Samuel admitted in slight 'surprise', he definitely wasn't messing with her, nope, not at all.

"Are you actually a rich young master?" Hayasaka had no choice but to wing it now, she had to cover this up and fast.

"Ahaha...." Samuel scratched the back of his head with an awkward laugh, why did he get called a rich young master when he didn't even act like one?

"Hehe, you must be looking forward to that.." Hayasaka laughed 'shyly', all these heirs were too strange in the maid's opinion. Her lady for example, then there was the Momobami heir with her strange god complex and finally the Takishima boy head over heels for his poor childhood friend and his strange 'chill guy' demeanour.

That last one needed to learn some things from Samuel.

It was undeniable that all of them were monstrous geniuses though.

...But then again, they clearly had superior genetics as compared to the layman... a rich people thing which Hayasaka couldn't exactly wrap her head around.

"That doesn't really matter does it?" Samuel asked rhetorically, he felt that he was undeserving of such things but, he had to inherit it regardless, even if the only plausible reason he had was not wanting to disappoint them.

"I guess not." Hayasaka nodded wisely, folding her arms under her chest (unknowingly, or perhaps knowingly, emphasising just how well endowed she was), it appeared that he really wasn't a rich asshole or had a superiority complex.. though, that in itself was weird.

Samuel narrowed his eyes for a moment before sighing, "Some rich kid school it is ." He said walking away, his father would probably go overboard too. "I hope we meet again then." She smiled brightly.

Who was she kidding? She was a student there, they were definitely going to meet. She knew full well where exactly he would be going.

"..." Samuel only smiled at her, didn't she say her family was in a tough spot?

'You and I both know that was a lie.'

"Wha.. senpai, why does it look like you doubt that?"

Samuel only smiled pensively, she would realise it in a moment... definitely.

And he was right, slowly but surely a small blush crept up on her cheeks, though the maid was rather quick in recollecting herself, "I meant, tough spot as in... getting along.."

"I see, that must be tough." Samuel didn't like the answer at all, couldn't she have said something else? "I'm really sorry senpai." She lowered her head with closed eyes, even though there was nothing to apologise for! It was a tactic to completely brush over the previous matter.

...Except it didn't work.

"..." Samuel simply scratched his cheek, ignoring the retarded comments about how he deserved death for making a girl bow to him.... To be honest, he liked the sight... Bad thoughts, shoo.

"Explode, riajuu!"

"Death Curse Beam!"

..... Yes, there wasn't anything worthwhile said to him.

Samuel slightly raised his head before taking a step closer to the unsuspecting maid, "Heh."

The next moment however, his eyes widened in surprise at the reaction, bloodlust? "Are you kidding me?"

'I'm just as surprised as you. L people.'

"For fuck's sake, stop." Samuel sighed at the witch's actions only for her to giggle at his reaction, yes this was fun and amusing for her.

"Senpai, I think we should leave." Hayasaka looked around worriedly, what in the hell was wrong with these people? Well she knew exactly what the problem was, just she refused to accept it.

"I think I'll head towards my father." Samuel replied calmly, staring off at a skyscraper in the distance. Even he couldn't deny how impressive his family was to be honest.

"I... guess we'll have to part ways then." Hayasaka looked 'troubled' by the prospect.. however, she had a lead from before and decided to capitalise on it, "Senpai, do you think.. we could umm, go for that drive on the weekend?" She knew he would definitely go out to the countryside, he had after all expressed interest in it.

Samuel, saw no real harm in doing so and nodded, "Sure." Though, he would surely cancel said plans if something more important came up.

"Really? Thank you." Hayasaka smiled brightly, good it worked, though she had a nagging feeling it didn't work the way it was supposed to. "Here's my number, see you later kay senpai?"

Numbers were exchanged and then, both teenagers parted ways.

Once both of them were out of sight of one another, Hayasaka's cheery demeanour changed to a reserved and calm one. The bright smile on her face was now replaced by a monotone expression.

She sighed once, she was just about to throw a tantrum! It might be her job but she had no experience with men! It was seriously embarrassing when she got too close!

And, and, what was wrong with him?! Weren't boys supposed to have strange hobbies and be dumb?? Well she agreed he was slightly dumb but, why was he like... most of what she would want?!

..."Ahh.." Hayasaka walked away rather annoyed.

Here we see two bullshitters in their natural habitat, surprisingly, they get along pretty well.

That aside, I noticed someone saying it was getting boring? Well, my bad I guess?

Next, I set up the poll for the next world arc but I think nobody on the patreon realised it was a poll so I'll have to reconfigure that.
