Being Curious

By the time Min left the police station, the sun had already set and a nice breeze was going on with dark clouds in the sky, this combination again got Min excited so decided to walk over the city rather than taking his vehicle as he was crossing the road Sinika called him 'Mina, wait!' Min turned around and got curious 'what is she doing here' he turned back again and crossed the road, Sinika ran to him and said 'I asked you to wait' Min replied 'I can't wait' Sinika asked 'why?' Min replied 'I cannot wait at the crossing, am I? I was going to stand there by the stall' Sinika said 'correct' Min asked 'what are you doing here' Sinika told 'I had some business with the Inspector who is in charge of the investigation, what are you doing here?' Min without revealing much info 'Right, you are a lawyer, ...I had to submit a statement regarding a case involving my co-workers' Sinika told 'Don't be modest now I saw and heard everything about how you saved the women from drug abuse' Min raised his eyebrows and told 'Oh you heard everything, I don't need to explain anything then' to stop the inquiry, Min asked 'do you want to have a cold-drink or any other stuff, I am parched, I am having a cold drink Sinika told 'I don't drink sweet beverage, but if you're offering I can have one' Min relaxed a bit as he was afraid of her inquiry and as he had his gulp of that drink, Sinika said 'A few days ago, I also faced a similar situation and got saved' Min threw up the drink, Sinika gave some tissue from her bag and asked 'are you fine, you almost finished the drink in one gulp' Min had some drink oozing from his nose, Sinika started laughing at him, Min said 'I am ok now' and refused taking tissue and brought his handkerchief to clean, Sinika 'you have handkerchief, who uses that nowadays' Min with unfazed face said 'In this heat, who doesn't?' Sinika told 'Literally no one, everyone uses tissues or face wipes' Min said 'oh, is that the trend nowadays' After finishing their drink both were walking down the street heading towards their home, Sinika asked 'what cologne you're wearing, I think I smelled this before' Min without realizing that he wore the same cologne since he came here said 'I got this in one plus one deal from a local street market in my hometown' Sinika said 'I see, where you are working now? I heard the women you saved work at the same company' Min said 'I work at a major MNC as a developer, and she was from my team' Sinika asked 'I also heard that the perpetrator also work at the same company, Min said 'you are right, they were also from my team' Sinika was showing more curiosity at him 'How did you save her, you don't seem very athletic' Min said 'I didn't' Sinika asked 'what do you mean by that?' Min after noticing that she was inquiring for a while 'You ask a lot of questions, indeed you are a lawyer' Sinika said 'I have a habit of asking a lot of questions, sorry if you feel uncomfortable' Min said 'Apology accepted, as long as you don't ask more questions' Sinika was mentioning about the incident and Min got curious now 'How did you end up there?' Sinika told 'I was trapped, a witness called me to talk about the case and I asked some questions verifying his credibility and by his answer, it looked like he had some critical information' after a brief pause Sinika told 'I came prepared for those kinds of scenarios' Min asked 'what kind of preparation?' Sinika told 'I had pepper spray with me' Min with frustration 'you cannot beat 10 persons with pepper spray' after a brief pause, Sinika with a curious face 'By the way how did you know there were 10 persons' Min bit his tongue and said 'I am giving you an example that you cannot beat 10 persons or more with that kind of preparation' Sinika and Min almost reached the building and a guy came calling for Sinika from a distance and running 'Hey what are you doing here with him? I called you so many times' Min thanked the skies and rushed from Sinika 'I am off, goodnight' the guy with envious eyes asked Sinika 'who is that guy? He is fatso, why are you hanging with him, is he like a brother' Sinika almost shouted 'Where are you going? the building is that way' Min didn't turn around and started walking towards the lake which is almost 2 km away from the building, Sinika couldn't stop being curious and she started mumbling 'I forgot to ask for his number' the guy asked 'what? Why do you need his number?' Min got the message from the office of Gwen of his appointment being fixed the very next day.
