Chapter 7: Everytime we touch, I get this feeling~!!

Dender was getting annoyed of not being the center of attention anymore, and for once he did his best to make good conversation.

''So, Heiro.. You appear to be integrating well here. You are doing a lot better than most heroes before you.''

I broke off my footsie session with Dya very gently in order to keep up appearances. The music was now mostly flutes and fast drums. And Dya looked a bit disappointed. I wonder what she had in store for me.

She looked over her shoulder, and told us that she wanted to be excused for a while. Neither of us protested to her abrupt departure.

Now that I had my full focus on Dender. I decided to give him my undivided attention.

''What is your problem with the Heroes, Dender?''

I said with the smell of garlic eminating from my mouth. Dender was a bit suprised by my sudden change in attitude. Something he did not really mind as much, as he did the smell.

He looked away a bit and told me that there have been many Heroes, more than a dozen.

''They were all lacking in certain regards. Too soft, too weak. Some were strong, but very dumb. Others were simply unable to adapt. Not able to accept their new surroundings.

A few ran away. One commited suicide in his bedroom. Tying a noose and jumping out of his window with the rope around his neck.

I was the one who had to clean up the mess.''

He gritted his teeth in agony.

''The Princess was totally broken after that for a few months. She ate poorly, she barely slept. And said that we would stop the Summoning of Heroes if a tragedy like this happens again.

And you, are the last one we will ever summon.''

He looked at me with a mix of concern and pain in his pink eyes. The pink in his eyes was not as hot as it had been earlier. But there was still visible anger in his eyes.

''Listen carefully, young Heiro. I do not like you. But not because you are a worthless hero. I dislike you because I have too. It is my job to hate your sort. See me as a form of.. practical insurance.''

I tried my best to figure out what Dender meant by that. I mean, he was a complete piece of shit. And the smell of his food was even worse.

He obviously is very fond of the princess. And she had suffered a lot due to the other heroes. I felt a bit sorry for her. And wanted to talk to her in private.

I also wanted to get away from the fishy smell which by now had overwhelmed the smell of garlic. I excused myself to the bathroom.

Dender told me that it was the last door on the right. I thanked him and left. He chuckled a bit, but I did not think anything of it.

With great haste I walked toward the hall, searching for the last door on my right. The hall was pretty long.

And I needed to go to the bathroom really bad. I dashed toward the hallway. And my bare feet felt really strange on the smooth cold tiles of the hallway.

I could not care less and I sprinted to the end of the hall before making an sudden stop before entering the door dynamically.

My feet almost gave out after I had entered the bathroom. I checked for any other people and saw no one, yet.

I barged into the first stall that was open and relieved myself, sighing loudly while I was emptying out my now overstretched bladder.

I felt so good that I collapsed on the toilet, heaving loudly and squeezing out every drop of urine in my body.

I checked the bowl for any Black Essence. There was none to be seen.

I felt enormous relief. I put my hands over my sweating face and inhaled deeply. There was something odd about this bathroom; this was not a man's bathroom!

The toilet paper was golden yellow in colour and had a soft velvet like texture with the faint smell of flowers.

That jerkface Dender did gave me the right directions to the bathroom. I was just too trusting to ask which was the one for men!

After I was done and completely drained of any waste, I did my first try to leave the stall. I unlocked the door when I heard footsteps in the hall. They were bare feet, and my heart started racing.

I left the stall as quickly as I could in order to evade the approaching female. My luck ran out as soon as I opened the door; it was Dya charging through the door.

She was completely caught off-guard by my presence in the doorway. The only thing she could blurt out was:

''CATCH m-"

Before she smashed into me with full speed. Luckily my padded vest cushioned the impact, saving her from any bodily harm. We were both barefoot and neither of us had any grip on the smooth tiles.

I wrapped my arms around her and pressed her head against my chest. She was almost a head shorter than I am, so I was able to protect her from landing on the hard floor.

The padding saved my back from the crashlanding after we slid against the wall on the other side of the bathroom.

I groaned softly while I relaxed my hold on Dya's body. She held on to me tightly, her fingers dug deep into my vest.

I stroked her hair, hoping that she was not harmed. She slowly let go of me and looked me in the eyes. She did not look scared, but bewondered.

I gently smiled and said:

''Dender did not tell me which bathroom was for the guys!"

She smiled and pecked me on the lips. I kissed her back, feeling that this was a proper reward for my heroic action. She broke off the kiss tenderly and told me in utter embarrasment.

''I almost pissed myself just now.. I really need to go to the bathroom!''

She stood up with wobbly knees and jumped into the nearest stall; sighing the biggest sigh of relievement I had ever heard!

In order to save face I left the bathroom as I had intented, looking around the hallway for the men's bathroom.

A guard showed me that it was the last door on the left. And that Dender was not to be trusted in any way.

I gritted my teeth in frustration. But smiled at the guard, and thanked him for his help. He smiled back and told me:

''Just doing my job, Heiro.''
