The Meeting

[Kirk's P.O.V.]

Even though my experiences were indeed difficult for ordinary people to understand, and Abby definitely didn't know how to comfort me, I was grateful to hear her say these words. My gloominess had been swept away and I started to feel a little more relaxed.

Abby was right. One must live in the present and always move forward. Those who couldn't walk out of the past would stay in the cage of the past for the rest of their lives. At that moment, I decided to abandon my complicated past and live well for the present. I wanted to live for myself.

That night, Abby and I sat on the roof until dawn. It was a rare moment for the two of us to get along peacefully. Even we didn't realize it. It was Sister Rowling who pointed it out when she came early in the morning and saw Abby and me sitting peacefully on the roof.
