[Ellie's P.O.V.]
"What are you two talking about? Are you trying to tip off the thief and get him to leave quickly?" Doug wasn't happy with our actions. He might have acted all high and mighty, but his eyes gave him away.
I scoffed. His acting skills were too poor. Why were all the people Anton found so terrible? Did he really expect to slander us with such cheap tricks?
I ignored Doug's question and let Rowling out after I finished talking to her. I only looked at Doug and stared into his eyes once Rowling was gone. "Didn't you insist that the cleaner stole it? So I called her over? If it's really the people of the hotel who did it, I, as the boss, will have to fire her on the spot. But if it's not, you have to think about the consequences of deliberately slandering the hotel."
As soon as I finished speaking, Doug's expression changed. He didn't even dare to look me in the eye anymore. If this wasn't a sign of guilt, then what was?
