Well, Anton wasn't entirely wrong. I had, after all, been away from Bright Moon Pack for quite a few years and didn't know what had changed or remained the same here. All I could keep track of was what my father had been up to through the news.
Still, I had a feeling Kans hadn't become what Anton claimed.
The two of us fell silent but I knew he had quickened his pace. He walked us to the car and put me in. "You did well. I'll let you off for now."
After saying that, he got into the other side of the car. I was surprised by how quickly he changed his mind. Still, I heaved a sigh of relief, wondering what I did to change his mind. I felt like I had just survived a disaster.
Myron sat in between us, looking at us both curiously. Then he smiled. "Daddy just carried Mommy over!"
