[Ellie's P.O.V.]
For a moment, I did wonder if my words had hurt Kans, so much so that he would be shocked or reconsider his attitude about Nora. But obviously, anyone with even half a brain would be able to tell that Nora's words had more of an effect on him than mine did.
With a cold glare at Nora, Kans said, "You'd better not slander me. It was just my wishful thinking from the beginning. She wasn't the one who didn't want to let go. It is me. I never wanted to let her go."
This was the first time Kans revealed his feelings for me. Even though I had already known about it. But why would he even bother mentioning or acting on his feelings, especially now? We had gone our separate ways, each with their mates and lives.
I took a glance at Anton - he must have thought this would all be a good show. Now that things had gotten to this, I watched his expression change. His hand gripped mine tighter as if he was afraid would just snatch me away at any moment.
