The Horse

[Ellie's P.O.V.]

No matter what identity we bore, we had to rise and take responsibility for it. Similarly, I would treat this experience as part of being the Luna of a pack and owner of Moon Manor. I had my people to protect too.

Anton gave me a deep look and hugged me again.

Meanwhile, the two little fellows had been staring at me with their eyes wide open for a long time. Anton finally let go when Ollie and Kirk came - it was a cue that they had things to deal with. After he left, I bent over and gave a good look at the children. My heart started to ache and I was at a loss for words for a moment. In the end, I just reached out and stroked their heads.

"Mom, don't be sad. I didn't cry at all. I was even comforting Daisyy because I knew Mom and Dad would defeat the bad guys and have Uncle Ollie come to save us." Myron's voice was as gentle and sweet as ever, which only made my heart ache more.
