[Ellie's P.O.V]
Matthew glanced at us, his clouded eyes filled with tears, and suddenly knelt down before us. "I'm sorry, Mr. Anton, Madam. I know you've come here to deal with the missing werewolves situation. I beg you, please save my son. Can you?"
I was taken aback and unconsciously took a step back. His sudden change in attitude filled me with sorrow. Had he also pleaded with Carlyle like this? But Carlyle was very indifferent, much like Garcia, appearing kind and gentle on the surface but cold and distant in reality.
I reached out to help him up. "Matthew, please stand up. We need to hear the details from you first, everything you know. Only then can we help you."
If too much time had passed, his son might have already turned into a mutant werewolf. I didn't want to make promises right from the start, as unfulfilled expectations could easily shatter a person's spirit. Matthew was getting older, and he shouldn't be subjected to too much stress.
