Buried in the Desert

[Anton's P.O.V]

I suddenly turned around, got into the car, and prepared to start the vehicle to get out of the desert.

Kirk, probably startled by my sudden reaction, hesitated for a moment and then hurried over to me. But as he was about to open the car door, he stopped abruptly. He looked down, his expression filled with fear, and tapped on the car window.

I didn't understand what was happening, so I furrowed my brows slightly and got out of the car to see what had caught Kirk's attention. At this point, I couldn't afford to miss any chance that might provide us with clues. Kirk must have made a new discovery, or he wouldn't want us to stay in the desert.

I walked up to his side, and even before he signaled me, I looked down at his feet. It was hard to believe what I saw; though it wasn't a jump-scare, it was certainly unexpected.
