But suddenly, the fruit knife reflected a flash of white light, and my heart ached—a pain as if a blade had pierced through my heart. In disbelief, I loosened my grip, and the person in my arms pushed me away; her hands were covered in blood, my blood.
"Ellie, you..." I couldn't believe Ellie would lay hands on me. We were mates; if I were injured, she couldn't possibly be oblivious.
However, the person before me indeed didn't seem to sense my pain. Brushing off the dust on her body, she stood up as if nothing had happened, her cold gaze chilling my heart.
Impossible. I shook my head in shock. She was clearly Ellie, and I had felt her pain, her helplessness. So, I came to find her. But now, was everything just a deception?
I looked around, and Kirk was nowhere to be seen. But... he had just entered with me.
