The casino's doors were deserted, without the sounds of cheers, complaints, or betting, and no lights shone, as if everything from the previous day had been an illusion.
In disbelief, we took advantage of the night to go downstairs and sneak in, only to find many gambling cards and dice left uncollected, garbage scattered on the ground, presenting a desolate scene, nothing like the liveliness of the previous night.
Worried that it might be a trap, we didn't stay long inside, hurriedly took a few photos, and returned.
"We must have startled the snake," Anton said gravely. "Such quick relocation is impossible for ordinary people unless they were prepared in advance."
My thoughts aligned with his, but since when had we been exposed?
