[Ellie's P.O.V]

Leah, on the other hand, appeared to be more panicked. Her eyes quickly darted away from us after just a second of eye contact, never settling on a fixed point.

She must have realized that her actions were quite inappropriate. On one hand, she needed our help to get rid of the "scoundrel" Mason, and on the other, she openly prevented us from taking him away. Such contradictory behavior could only come from her.

"So, Lady Leah, you can play two different roles, one in front of us and another behind our backs," I scoffed. "Back when you were begging us to get rid of the so-called 'beast' for you, and now you want to protect him? It's truly laughable."

I felt a tinge of sadness, but this was Leah's choice. Aside from causing us some difficulties in our task, it wouldn't have a significant impact for now.
