Going Home

[Ellie's P.O.V]

Anton chuckled, "I was surprised too, but when Ollie told me that Leah punctured all four tires during one of their distracted moments, I started to understand. Repairing the tires alone would probably take them half a day."

I was utterly shocked. Leah had managed to achieve this kind of "success" by repeating her sabotage techniques? I couldn't help but be exasperated, and some sarcastic words slipped out, "She might as well bring a bomb next time and blow up the whole car. That way, Ollie and Xavier won't be able to leave at all. Wouldn't that better suit her intentions?"

But as soon as I said it, I remembered that Panse's body was still in the car. My words had shown disrespect for the deceased, not to mention that Panse was Anton's father. I pressed my lips together and cautiously looked at Anton, saying, "I'm sorry."
