Chapter 71: Dinner and a Rival

Zale POV

“Where are we going?” Addie asked as we drove into the center of town. I had considered blindfolding her for enhanced mystery but decided against it. It seemed a little bit too extra.

“There’s this amazing new restaurant in town,” I answered excitedly. “It’s owned and run by Michelle Eliot; the most famous and successful chef in both Europe and Asia. She’s finally decided to branch out to America as well.”

Addie smiled at me and I immediately felt like a child who had said something ‘cute’ to the adults.

“I never knew you were a culinary fan, Zale,” she commented.

That was a comment that I got often. People liked to push things and other people into neat little boxes, and the boxes were very defined, leaving very little room for growth.
