Settling in the mansion

Some maids came some few seconds later and led us through the palace. I noticed that Xavier and Brandon had left us and gone somewhere else. I was even mad at them I advised myself not to focus on them.

As we were walking, I noticed the paintings that hung on the walls. Some of the people I knew and some I did not. There were also paintings of Shakespeare, Leonardo Da Vinci, Michel Angelo, and others.

We happened to pass by some rooms and in one of the rooms, I noticed a little girl learning how to play the piano. She was very cute and I made a mental note to find out who she was soon.

In another room, I saw statues and paintings. I guessed this was the room for artifacts. Then I noticed two things that blew my mind. I even stopped to look at them. There was a painting of the Mona Lisa. Again, I noticed the David sculpture by Michel Angelo. I was mind blown.

My first question was, how did they acquire the Mona Lisa from the Louvre Museum in Paris? And secondly, how did they get the David sculpture from the Accademia Gallery? This place was insane.

The walls in the hall were decorated in style. The place was screaming wealth. The designer made the mansion look expensive. It was like they intentionally decorated the place to intimidate poor people.

Some other maids passed by us and that was when I noticed their dressing. All of them had their hair tied in ponytails which were held by golden hairpins. Their shoes were shiny white. Their skirts were red and their shirts which were tucked in their skirts were white.

I didn't even realize I had reached my room until the maids escorting us alerted me. When the door was opened, I was extremely surprised. The room was painted light blue and there was a bed that was big enough to be queen-sized and a couch that was big enough to contain two people.

"This is Senah and my room, right? I can't stay here alone." I said. I couldn't even think of sleeping alone in this room. I wasn't sure if I was ever going to be used to that.

"We've been ordered by the queen to give each of you your separate rooms. Your sister's room is the next." The maid said and gently bowed. I wanted to disagree but the maid had been ordered and I didn't want to offend the queen.

I thought Senah would also disagree but just then, Senah came into my room all cheered up and she seemed okay sleeping alone. She invited me to check out her room and it was beautiful. But I seemed to like my room better. Her room was baby pink and I wasn't a fan of the color pink either.

Just then another maid quickly hurried over to us. "A message from the queen. She said she would like to meet you both after you freshen up. There are dresses in your wardrobes. She said to meet her in the parlor. There's a party this evening."

Wow...this was going to be a hell of a stay.
