Madi P.O.V.

Jason was waiting impatiently for me as I quickly got a shower and dressed. We may have been in a hurry but it wouldn't benefit any of us if I went out there with the lingering smell of my heat all over me. When I was fully dressed Jason clasped his hand around mine before pulling me behind him to the office down the hall. As we walked in there was a small girl with long curly brown hair facing the window looking over the woods. She was of a slight build and not very tall but she had an air of power around her. When she turned around I let out a surprised gasp at the coloring of her eyes. Her eyes were a vibrant unnatural shade of purple that appeared to be glowing.

When she noticed my stare she waved a hand over her face and they changed to a normal shade of chocolate brown. "Sorry about that. I don't get around other people very often. Sometimes I forget my eyes aren't a normal human color."

Jason didn't seem surprised at all at the easy way she cast a glamour over her eyes but I had never actually seen a witch in person, and definitely never seen magic used so casually. Jason took a seat in his chair and I opted to stand behind him my body humming with too much energy to relax. He gestured for her to sit down and she sat in the armchair across from the desk crossing her jean-clad legs before clasping her hands together on her lap. Even with how calm he looked I could feel the stress as I rested my hands on his shoulders and he spread his hands out telling her she had the floor to talk.

She let out a deep breath before she started, "My name is Erenay. I was once a member of the Moon coven. We had been approached over a year ago by a wolf asking for help to take over this pack. I didn't bother with learning who he was because I had no intention of helping him. My coven had a policy of not getting involved with wolf or vampire business. There are too many covens that come into trouble by worrying about things that have nothing to do with them. We sent him away and we thought it was over until a few weeks later he was back with help. I was able to fight them off, but by the end everyone else was dead and he had stolen three of my girls. These aren't just any girls though, after me, they were the most powerful young witches of their time. All vampires, witches, and werewolves were created by the moon goddess and we all have different gifts. In addition to having powers, I also have the sight. I don't control it and there is no way to force it, but I do get glimpses of the future and sometimes the past. A month ago my visions changed into violence. I have been tracking where my sisters were in an attempt to free them, but every time I lock onto a location they move again. My visions have shown me a world that none of us want to live in. After that wolf takes over here, killing you and your luna, he won't stop. He will keep rising until he rules all supernatural creatures and many of us will die. On top of all of that, he will imprison all of humanity. The balance between good and evil is a fragile thing. I can't allow any one creature to have that much control or the balance slips and the world will fall into chaos, destroying itself in the process. He only wins because you are not prepared when he attacks. He will bring witches, wolves, and vampires. You need more than you have. You need to put out word and get more bodies here to help. You have less than a month. He will attack when every leaf has fallen off the white cedar tree in front of this home."

I looked at her in shock, "But that tree is already more than halfway bare!"

Her eyes flashed purple for a second as she looked up at me, "I understand Luna. I will do what I can to help you. You two are a very important part of history and I cannot let you fall just as much as I can not let him succeed."

Jason spoke next, "How are we important?"

She looked back at Jason, "The moon goddess told me nothing beyond that. All I know is you are important and we need to stop the wolf coming to kill you both."

I spoke next, "And how do we do this? Vampires aren't exactly crazy about wolves."

Her voice remained calm, "I can get you the witches and vampires you need but they may require something in return. I don't know what that may be but you will not win this battle without them."

Jason and I looked at each other before he spoke, "We will deal with the consequences when they come."

She nodded at us as she stood, "I will be on my way then. A lot of vampires and witches like to be off the grid, so I will need to travel to them. I will be back in time for the battle."

I spoke quickly, "Wait! How will you know?"

She smiled at me as he eyes changed back to her purple color, "I'm a witch Luna, I have my ways."

The window to the office opened and a flurry of newly fallen leaves surrounded her like a tornado and she disappeared right in front of our eyes.

Jason and I looked at each other before he spoke what I was thinking, "Well fuck."

Over the next few weeks, witches, wolves, and vampires all started trickling in. We had fit all the wolves we could into properties on the pack land and the witches and vampires were finding their own way. There was some bad blood and we couldn't blame them for not trusting us. We had sent a small group to protect Ari and Karen so that they would be safe, no matter what happened to us. We had been slowly watching as more and more leaves fell from the tree, knowing any day could be the day that the last one falls off. The leader of the vampires had finally arrived today and wanted to talk with us about what he would require in exchange for their help. Now, vampires aren't what humans think they are. It makes it easier for them to blend in if humans thought they couldn't enter homes uninvited or walk in the sun.

Most vampires came off as completely human. They did age, just slowly and they did walk in the sun but they were weaker during the day and they did not sleep in coffins. They actually slept very little. Sleeping was more of a choice than a need for them. Some of them still chose to sleep every day because it helped with the passing of time. They did have things humans did not like strength slow aging and of course needing blood to survive. These days most of them actually survived exclusively on animal blood. In the world we live in today, it's harder to feed on humans without being noticed.

I was currently watching Jason as he changed into some clean clothes before we went to meet with the vampire. I stood up behind him as he looked for a shirt and laid a light kiss on his nape. He let out a groan as he turned around pulling me against his bare chest.

"We don't have time for this love."

I stood on my toes and nipped his ear before I whispered, "I know. But I want you to be thinking about this the entire time we are in that meeting."

I felt him shiver as he wrapped a hand around the back of my neck before running his teeth across my mark. "And I hope you remember how I'm making you feel as well."

I let out a huff of disappointment as he turned back around quickly putting on a shirt. He held his hand out and I took it as we walked to the office.

As we walked in a man that looked to be close to our age stood up and held his hand out to us. "Hi, I'm Jared Black. I'm the vampire king."

Jason reached out and shook his hand, "I'm Alpha Jason and this is our Luna and my mate Madi."

I shook his hand as well and was surprised by how cool it was to the touch. He had light brown hair and dark brown eyes. He was tall and seemed fit, but nothing like a werewolf and even though he looked our age there was something in his eyes that seemed so much older than us. There was honestly no way to tell just how old he was without outright asking.

"So we don't expect your help for free. What is it you want from us?" I gestured for him to sit as Jason sat in his chair and I perched on the edge of the desk.

He looked between us as he began to speak, "First I need to tell you of something that was foretold of hundreds of years ago. I think that it was a prophecy and it is coming true. When all creatures of the moon goddess are brought together by the true king and queen of the werewolves they will have a child the princess of the moon destined to be with a prince of the night and will unite the vampire and werewolf species."

I looked at him in disbelief, "You don't seriously think that this is talking about us do you?"

He looked directly into my eyes, "Without a doubt it is you. There has been nothing since this was foretold that was anything close to the prophecy. You are the Queen, your mate is the King and your daughter will be the one to bring us together."

Jason spoke now, "This isn't possible. No wolf has ever had a vampire mate in all of history."

Jared nodded, "Yes, I know. I would not tell you of this if I wasn't absolutely sure of what I was saying. I have had the most powerful witches I could find examine the text and it is real. We have also found that my son is the vampire in this puzzle. Yes, we have children the same way all mammals do, and the same day your daughter was born, my son was born."

I looked at him in disbelief. "You can't possibly expect us to give you our infant daughter."

He made a face, "Of course not. You will still raise her until the children come of age. In vampire society, we reach maturity by thirteen."

Before he could say anything else I jumped in, "No, absolutely not. Wolves cant even identify their mate until they are sixteen. Not to mention with the businesses and such owned by the pack we have a pretense to keep up. We would have to keep our daughter till after she finishes school which would be shortly before she turns eighteen."

"Understood Luna. We can put it off till they are eighteen. I do not believe I am wrong, but what I suggest is the day she turns eighteen we have an open invitation to come here and see if our children really are destined to be together."

"Are you suggesting an engagement between our two five month old's?"

There was a light smile on his lips as he spoke. "In a way, I suppose I am. This is more of an engagement to be engaged. We won't know for sure if they are truly mates until your daughter comes of age. I am simply suggesting we set up a plan to figure it out. Nothing more, nothing less."

I watched as Jason nodded thoughtfully, "Well if he is her mate I don't want to keep them from each other. So on the children's eighteenth birthday, you have our permission to attend the celebrations."

I bit my tongue until Jared and Jason had said their goodbyes and the door was firmly closed behind him. "Have you lost your mind, Jason? Agreeing to let vampires come to our home and test to see if our daughter will be mated to a vampire? Even if she is, how can we allow this? She will be in danger. Do you think their kind will ever accept that Ari and his son are mean to be?"

Jason walked up to me and soothingly rubbed his hands up and down my arms before he spoke. "Love, if what he says is true, then Ari is a princess and there will always be danger. We will have many enemies, but we will protect her."

I wrapped my hands around his neck and hugged him, "I really hope so."
