Six years later...1962
two teenagers sat with a 'GoodFellas' worker that talk to customers who come into the store and the customer would ask the, to do a job for money. No job couldn't be done, but the company had a policy where they wouldn't be hired to kill any hero or villain for any amount of money and there needed to be a valid reason.
"I need my parents to be killed. My mother is an alcoholic, and my father.... I don't have the money now, but once they're dead I can get their insurance money." He rambled visibly nervous as he sat with his best friend.
"Sorry kid, but we require a down payment up front first." The worker spoke.
"How much?" The friend asked repeatedly clicking a pen.
"For this type of job about $1,800." The boy's eyes just about popped out their face.
"I'll take this case." Onslo spoke grabbing the worker's shoulder.
"I- Yes boss."
Suprisingly when these stores first opened in three cities it got widespread attention, and there were actually a large number of children coming here in hopes they did whack their parent, but Onslo was truly just looking for one individual.
"You're Onslo Hughs?" One of the boy's asked.
"Yes, and you boys are?"
"Lionel Luthor."
"Morgan Edge, sir."
"I couldn't help but eavesdrop. This insurance money what do you plan to do with it?" Onslo asked already knowing the answer but wanted to hear it from the boys.
The two looked at each other but didn't answer his question.
"Oh, come on. Beatings haven't killed, and your mother's a drunk, but hasn't sold you. How bad can it be? You obviously have a plan, so let me in on it, and you might just get support."
"Me and Morgan plan to start a company with agricultural products, sir."
"Polite. And you're how old?"
"Seventeen."
"I see. I will get your situation done out of my own pocket, and free of charge to you. When you turn 18, I will transfer two million dollars for 45% of your company." Onslo offered in truthfulness it was ten times better offer than any episode of 'Shark Tank' for a not started company yet.
Morgan gleamed, but Lionel shot it down suspicious, "I pay you the total amount of the murder after I get the insurance money, and you get none of the company."
"Ok." Onslo said taking a risk. Lionel was young and was at the age where he didn't like to share, but he didn't expect for the man to give up that quick."
"Just like that?"
"Just like that I'm a very busy man, and don't have time to negotiate with a boy, his friend, and a make-believe company." He taunted to the next multi-billionaire. The same man who played an internal part in Clark's adoption to Jonathan and Martha Kent.
"Two million for ten percent." He tried him as Onslo was getting up from the small desk.
"Don't make me laugh I ain't your bank boy. I'm not negotiating the price." He replied as he got fully up and turned to leave waving over another worker to give the boys the paperwork.
"Three million and protection from your company for 35%! You won't regret this."
Onslo would take the most risk with Lionel's future enemies although he had a common one with the Kent's. "The company only as that's my money that's where the guards will protect only. If I find you're using them for other purposes, there will be consequences."
"Deal." The boys each shook Onslo's hand and after signing a contract after Onslo walked away, so the previous worker could step in so the boys could finish the paperwork about other matters.
"Are you sure boss?" A man who's been part of the crew since the beginning asked warily.
"I'm certain it'll work out. It's a nice day out." Onslo smiled walking back into his office.
"But it's raining." The man had said to no one in particular.
In his office Onslo thought about his own best friend. Since the falling out that day Onslo kicked him out the crew and even Gotham. If he wanted back in Onslo had told him, he needed to prove to all he had grown up. Onslo had seen giving a big position to a man who acted like a child would still act like a child, but a child with nothing and no one there will force the child to grow up.
The next day Lionel's parents Lachan and Eliza Luthor would die in a freak car accident with a semitruck.
One-man Onslo despised more than Superman was Martian manhunter earlier that year he weighed the pros and cons of killing him early in the timeline, but ultimately decided against it. Even though Superman was one of the reasons he died in his past life and Manhunter hadn't done anything to him his powers just rubbed Onslo the wrong way.
