Chapter 29

The Guardians' Abode.

He lazily wandered along the corridor of the Abode, thinking over everything that had happened over the last day. It had been long since Eugene got so tired, and the reason was not the fight with Yeti, but his lie to calm his beloved Darsy. He did not like to lie, but he had to calm her down. Even if he would repent afterward, but now there would be more hope in her heart than the sorrowful expectation of death.

He himself did not believe in the words that spoke about their mutual future, but he hoped that it would still come true. Only Darsy kept Eugene from the abyss, which it was so easy to fall in and cross out all at once. There would be no rules or punishments. They would be beyond the reach of the power of the Elders, but then Darsy could not help complete the confrontation and would inexorably bring the wrath of Chaos on this world.
