Fourteen years.
Seemingly a second in the universe while not even being that. However, on earth where humans thrive, fourteen years after the birth of someone, they enter a new stage of life while gaining a new status with it.
Teenagers.
Even the thought of them sickened Ayato. This was the ripe period for kids to do something they thought looked cool, feel awesome and cringe when they looked back on it a few years later.
He couldn't believe he was one of them now.
This age also provided opportunities, such as this.
"It was a pleasure doing business with you, Mr. Iwasaki."
The formally dressed woman in front of him stood up, grabbing her bag and bowing slightly.
"Pleasures all mine. Thank you for taking the time out of your schedule to visit me."
The brown-haired woman who had her hair in a bun smiled slightly and nodded. Ayato escorted her to the door and the older woman turned back to him, even though they were the same height.
"I hope we will continue to work well together."
He could only nod, but the silence would get awkward, he needed to avoid awkwardness at all costs.
"A chapter every two weeks, it's enough time to get a chapter done with the homework, there shouldn't be any problems."
With a final nod, she turned around and walked off as he closed the door.
"Look at my baby boy growing up, making contracts all by himself."
...Now was the time to face the audience. His mother, who was there making them coffee and snacks while he did his thing.
"It's just some drawings, nothing special."
She hugged him, squeezing with all her might but he was still impassive.
"But you're already earning money for yourself, at the age of fourteen! I'm so proud! But drawing something and making the story at the same time is hard work, Are you sure you can handle it?"
Little did they know, "Attack on titan" Was already finished.
Plagiarism for the win.
Right now, he was working on Food wars.
Surprisingly enough, people have no imagination in this world, every manga had someone with a powerful quirk and them going to another world to decimate everything there. That's called boring.
Now he was being very imaginative... Not stealing content from another world. Totally.
"I'll be fine, I need to go to the gym now, Rin is probably waiting for me."
She let go of him and Ayato walked up to his room to pack bags. Shorts, a shirt... another shirt, a towel, a drink, and that was it. He was ready.
Time to work out in peace.
___
He wasn't working out in peace.
Partially due to every male stare directed at him, and partially due to the one intense female stare... Coming right from his side.
"Enjoying the view?"
His voice held no little amount of amusement as his gaze focused on Rin. Her hair was tied up in a ponytail, she was tall enough to reach right under his chin, and he was higher than normal.
"Yup-"
She wasn't even ashamed to admit it.
"The fact that you're lifting what a twenty-year-old bodybuilder would struggle on with one hand, what's there not to enjoy?-"
Ah...
So she was enjoying the fact that a fourteen-year-old kid could lift a heavy weight, weird but okay. I mean, it was hilarious, here they were, bodybuilders, fully grown men, and there he was, a fourteen-year-old boy with horns and reptilian eyes, lifting the weight they would struggle with.
"-It doesn't hurt that the one lifting is basically eye candy."
Oh, shameless, this girl was so shameless! Where did that little child that was kind of awkward go?
"Not in public, dear."
Swatting him on the hand, she turned around with a huff, hiding the blush that spread on her cheeks.
Getting him flustered was impossible, he always managed to flip the tables on her.
"Are you pouting?"
She was, but he wasn't going to see it, not if she could help it.
With a final "Hmph", she walked off to do her own workout.
Ayato could only chuckle at her back, ever since they were old enough to notice each other as the opposite gender, she always tried to at least make him blush, granted she failed but at least she tries.
One year was left until they both went to UA High, the "best" hero high school in Japan. He doubted it, but nothing was proving them wrong... yet.
Ever since All might graduated from there, they prided themselves on producing the world's greatest hero. He did not have any delusions of that place being safe.
He watched all sports festivals UA hosted, the kids there were arrogant, reckless, and overall thrill seekers. Ayato could see it in their eyes, their smiles, and how excited they were to take down their opponent to get the top spot.
Idiots, all of them.
They were basically giving out information about any future hero. No wonder the mortality rates were low, the schools were basically helping the villains by giving them information.
Sure, it may be described as a show of strength, but a dick measuring contest isn't worth lives. Not his, not Rin's, and not an innocent kid's who just wanted to use their gift for good.
Putting down the bar, He walked over to the weights and grabbed a few "Special" weights.
The owner of this gym had a quirk that could make things heavier without changing their form.
Adding on a few more weights to the bar, he grabbed on with both hands and lowered his body to focus the strain on his legs, just like the saying goes, "Lift with the legs".
"You two dating, Ayato?"
One of the gym trainers walked up to him and slung an arm over his shoulders... While he was still holding the bar.
"Let go..."
Ayato grits out as the sudden impact was unbalancing him and his grip was going to slip.
The Hulking man looked at the weights and hurriedly removed his hand while positioning himself in front of the teen, grabbing the bar and taking it off of his hands without any effort.
"Jeez, sorry, didn't notice them."
This man was Mr. Himekawa, the brother of the owner, much like their quirks, the two were opposite in character and build.
While one was laid back the other was serious. While the other was bulky, the other was skinny but still muscular. While one could make inanimate objects heavier, the other could make them lighter.
"Anyway, answer the question, boy, don't think that I didn't notice you flirting earlier."
The man elbowed him in the side playfully, grinning the whole time.
"No, we aren't dating."
Mr. Himekawa raised an eyebrow at him, looking surprised.
"Eh? But you two seemed close right there?"
Ayato could only shrug, he was sixteen when he died and he was double her age mentally, it would be weird... For him...
"Meh, we knew each other since we were four."
Suddenly, his entire aura changed, a light seemed to shine behind him as he spoke his words of wisdom.
"Ah, yes. The childhood friend route-"
Ayato turned around and left. Another thing to know about this particular brother: He's a giant weeb.
