Chapter 63

Bam!

The sound of an object crashing was heard in the living room.

"What do you mean she escaped?" Laura Kings yelled furiously, the veins in her body were already visible.

"I don't know how she did it ma'am but it seems like she knew this was going to happen and she prepared for it," the man who was bleeding thanks to the flower vase thrown at him by Laura said.

"I gave you a simple mission. End her, yet you can't, give me one reason why I shouldn't end you?" Laura fired angrily.

"Because she sent me to tell you something," the man replied.

"And what is that?" She asked.

"She said I should tell you that whatever you do to her isn't going to work and you save your strength for the real battle that hasn't begun," the man read the message through his phone.

Silence reigned after Andrew read out the message. "Get out!!" She roared and in a blink of an eye, Andrew left.

Laura stomped over to her swivel chair in her office and sat down, she was extremely furious.

Laura picked up the telephone and called her secretary.

"Ma'am you sent for me," the secretary said with fear.

"Can't you do anything right? Why do I pay you guys?" Laura yelled, she was really pissed off.

"Madam Kings, you have to calm down, at least for your health. We can think of a plan to…" she trailed off meeting Laura's deadly stare.

"Think of a plan?" Laura snorted, "you all are too dumb to think of a brilliant plan and for the goodness' sake, why did I employ you dumb heads?" Laura asked furiously.

"I am sorry ma'am, please reconsider your decisions," the secretary told Laura.

"Get out of my office this instance, you are fired!!!!" She roared. The young lady got to her knees, and begged Laura Kings not to fire her.

"What is going on here mother?" Chloe asked, she stumbled on the scene of her mother's secretary begging her.

"Leave," Chloe ordered the woman who got up to her feet and sluggishly left.

"Mother," Chloe called as she walked over to her mother.

"What makes you angry?" She asked.

"Who else apart from that witch of a sister, Sonia?" Laura asked.

"Sonia," Chloe mumbled under her breath, that name alone gave her heartache.

"Mom, she is not worth getting pissed off for. You are old and you need to rest and not to stress yourself, you can't die because of Sonia. I know that together we would find a solution," Chloe stated.

"That is the point, you are not even half as smart as Sonia," Laura argued.

"Mom!" Chloe raised her voice at her mother.

"Why are you comparing me with that slut?" Chloe asked, pissed off at her mother's words.

"Because that slut is about to take away everything you have worked hard for," Laura retorted.

"Mother!!" Chloe yelled, tears threatening to flow down her eyes but she held it.

"It was a bad idea coming here, maybe you can die of a heart attack thanks to Sonia and I would be sure she would have a satisfied look on her when she hears of your death," Chloe said~ note the heavy sarcasm.

Chloe turned to leave, she was already mad at her mother for comparing her with Sonia.

"I am sorry Chloe, you off people should know that I tend to say rubbish when I am angry," Laura apologized causing Chloe to turn and look at her with a smile.

"That is my mom speaking," Chloe muttered as she walked over to her mother and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.

Meanwhile,

Sonia groaned inwardly, why wouldn't Laura Kings let her be?

She quickly wore her black outfit and black face mask as well as black glasses. She swiftly grabbed her black clutch purse and left the room.

She walked out of the hotel hurriedly and made sure none of the gunmen saw her. She got into her sports car and drove off.

"Hello uncle Eden, where are you?" Sonia asked as the call connected.

"Avery? What happened and where the hell are you?" Eden asked.

"Uncle there is no need for you to panic, I am currently driving, so where should I meet you?" Sonia asked.

"I would text you my address instead," Eden told her.

"Alright, be quick," Sonia stated and ended the call. Immediately the call ended, a message appeared on her phone.

Sonia smiled as she hit the road at full speed. In no time she was in her uncle's residence.

The place looked brand new, there were lots of renovations lately and Sonia would say she liked the settings of the house.

She walked into the main building through the front door and was even surprised that none of the security personnels questioned her, maybe her uncle had told them about her beforehand.

There was no one in the living room and Sonia made herself comfortable on the sofa.

Just then an elderly figure walked in and Sonia was shocked.

It was no other than uncle Eden, he had aged so much since the last time she saw him. Well what was she expecting?

"What are you waiting for, come here Avery," Eden urged her.

For someone who didn't like being called her middle name, she didn't care if her uncle called her that, she had missed him so much.

Sonia ran to him and engulfed him in a bone crushing hug and balled her eyes out.

Eden rubbed her back affectionately, he was also happy to see her but then her cries were also affecting him. He failed his brother, he failed to protect Avery and he would not forgive himself for that mistake.

He knew what Laura was up to and he tried to stop her but he couldn't, the woman was too manipulative for his liking, did he also forget to mention that she threatened him with the lives of his family members? That woman had gone crazy and he was sure of that.
