Chapter 3: Who is Roy?

Captain's POV

'this is really weird, how can someone just vanish like that? and how does this killer managed to kill and get away without any evidence?

Without any traces... and no one saw him leave either. And not even a single footprint here. Its as if...'

"he was never here...."

"what did you just say captain?" the other officer standing next to me asked me.

 'did I say it out too loud?'

"oh its nothing go and find any clues about this murder"

I ordered them and all the officers went back to searching for any clue or trace that could at least give us a small lead to the killer .

  Walking past the officer, I went to see the dead body which was being transferred to the medical department.

I looked at the dead body and was perflexed..

'wow this sure is spooky! The corpse has a smile on his face even when it is dead.

the killer seem to have a liking about killing the victims this way, just like this corpse every other victim of his has the same final death face with a smile but before this victim most of the victims at least had some sort of abuse sign on their body either by the killer or by someone they knew. Now I am really curious how this killer killed this old man. Not only this man but all of his old victims too. All of them died the same way with a smile on their faces like they are happy that death has got them'

 I saw Roy looking at the corpse with a look of amazement like he was looking at a piece of art made by the killer.

 Ah.... 'Roy', he is the most passionate officer I have ever seen and the youngest one to pass all the levels of becoming a devoted agent as well.

Roy is actually a very impressive officer and his iq range is extremely high as well. He is usually goofy, doing stupid things and is an airhead but he always succeeds in solving all the mysteries and riddles which, even I, as a high ranked officer can't.

He sure was a surprise for me when I first saw him, 2 years ago, when he joined the Secret Investigation agency.

he wasn't any different from how he is right now but maybe he was a bit more goofy and airheaded back then.

he sure has toned down his stupidity levels alot more than the first time I met him.

The day he entered the office everyone was shocked with his youth and all of us thought he was some kid of an officer working in our department , looking at his cute face and light brown hair everyone was staring at him very intently as to find out if he was a girl or a boy.

Most of our department officers even mocked him for walking towards our head's office but he kept quite and walked straight.

He had a straight face but suddenly looked at one of our officers table and ran to see something on his table, it was really sudden how his face changed from straight to goofy but when he was running towards the table he tripped and fell straight to the ground.

The whole department was so shocked at the sudden event that they were all frozen in their seats.

As I remember, I was standing just next to Ronald and no matter how strict and emotionless his face is, even he was suddenly shocked and worried.

It was like a flash of the moment that I looked at him and snapped out of the shock.

That time I and Ronald quickly rushed to help Roy up and as soon as I saw his face the first thing I saw wasn't that boy's cold expression but instead, his innocence brimming eyes, they were clear like a green jade stone and looking at me with surprise as to be wondering why we were helping him..

Everyone was very quite that time and Ronald was the one to cut the silence and quicky picked the kid up and checked if he was ok or not.

He thanked us in a low tone , bowed a little and again headed to our boss's room.

People started to whisper again like it is a full fledge job they have to do.

Some of us even thought he was suspicious and one of our senior even asked him if he was lost or something but his savage reply was as savage as ever he said

"why do you ambition-less people always think of being nosy and being a stupid guide all the time?. I don't need your map. I am here to take a position for something better than you mocking, judging and slacking officers ."

It was truly a savage reply no one has ever dared to say to our senior.

But it was all true, each and every word of his reply. And at that time only Ronald laughed and said he liked this kid .

Later, Roy was given a high position much to our surprise but I can't argue about that because the results of his tests were the highest since this agency was made. I was sure he would be our next head but he refused the high position and came to train under me and Ronald.

People say 1st impression matters but I say otherwise, because the way he left his 1st impression on me he should be considered as the most stupid person and should had been fired by now, but as they say 'people are not always what they appears like'. It was the same case with him too.

"Umm captain? You ok? You have been staring at me for a while now.." Roy asked me with a face that was brimming with curiousity and I was suddenly pulled out of my deep thoughts when he snapped his fingers in front of me.

"oh I.... was just thinki---" I said stammering a little.

"of asking me out? ahhh I know captain~ you are captivated by my amazing beauty huh~ so I am this irresistible that even the captain is stari-- -"

*gets in a headlock by the captain*

"ahhhh ahh ouch I was just kidding!!! Just kidding!! Please let go of me!!!" as soon as I got him in a headlock he started begging me for letting go.

This kid and his non serious behavior is the only thing that causes my blood pressure to rise every single day.

"not until you say the safety line"

"ahhhh ok!! The captain is my senior and I am a stupid airhead who won't ahhhh do it again let go now!!!"

*released from the headlock*

" ahhh ack *cough* *cough* hah! You fell for it again cap!" his face was scrunching up cutely when he said it but as soon as I let him go of him , his face again switched to goofy as he said it to me.

"you brat!"

I was going to catch him again but he ran to the other room.

*Roy runs away to the other room where the CEO had died on the couch*

*The other room setting:

the room is full in view from where the captain is standing. The room has a huge bar stand with the most expensive alcohols on the left side of the couch where the CEO died. There is a huge table in front of the couch where a wine glass and a bottle of alcohol are present and there is a spaghetti pasta plate present as well, some of the pasta had been eaten from the plate. The room is very lavishing with white and silver flooring.*

"don't run around you brat!" I yelled as I saw him bumping in everyone on his way of escaping from me to the other room.

'he is such am airheaded kid'

"he sure is stupid as he was on his 1st day huh? Henry."

I heard my colleague 'Ronald' say it to me. I felt a little irritated since Ronald has always been very harsh towards Roy.

"please do not insult him, Captain Ronald, he is a remarkable officer that this agency needs"

Since the day Roy took the title of 'natural genius' Ronald has been nothing but a mean senior to him. But Ronald is my close friend to me since he was the first person, I was teamed up to solve our first actual robbery case.

"why are you always taking his side? So annoying! And didn't I told you not to call me captain when its only us!" Ronald asked me complaining.

"Fine. Ronald! But you should honestly stop bullying Roy so much!" I told him.

"just because he is in your team doesn't mean he gets to act stupid without getting scolded". Ronald argued again and looked straight to my face.

"he is not acting stupid! I would say, he rather acts more serious when it comes to missions! Ronald!" I stated my point again.

"open your eyes, oh great 'Captain Henry' and look at him. Look what he is doing right now!" he said and pointed to the direction where Roy had gone to.

"what is he.....what the—"

I looked over at Roy, who was secretly trying to drink the wine poured in the glass by the 'now dead' CEO and has stuffed his face with the cold spaghetti pasta that was on the table as well. how can he be so stupid!!!

 "OH MY FREAKIN GOD !  THE HELL ARE YOU DOING YOU IDIOT!!?" I yelled as I ran to him as fast as I could.

"he is obviously trying to die like that CEO. What else?" running behind me, Ronald said again.

"CAN YOU SHUT UP IF YOU CANT SAY ANYTHING NICE?"

" was just stating the truth!" Ronald again tried defending himself to me.

"THEN SHUT UP!" I finally yelled at him.

I quickly ran over to take the glass out of his hand but as he soon as he saw me running up to him, he quickly gulped down the wine in one go from the glass. And quickly tried to run away again but this time I caught him even before he could run away.

As soon as I turned him around he quickly gulped down everything in his mouth and looked at me like an innocent person.

"umm.... what is it cap—" Roy said to me with the most innocent expressions he had.

"SPIT IT OUT YOU IDIOT!! WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?!!" I yelled again.

"I was eating the pas—"

"AND THAT PASTA COULD HAD BEEN THE CAUSE OF THAT CEO'S DEATH!! IT COULD HAVE BEEN POISONED!!!" I again yelled at him and I could hear my heart thumping very loudly.

"no it don't cap—"

"THE HELL IT DON'T!!! HOW DO YOU KNOW IT DON'T HAVE POISON!!"

"henry....I think we should lay him down first..." I heard Ronald telling me.

"YEAH! LAY DOWN HERE ON THE COUCH RIGHT NOW!" panic was rushing through my veins as I forced Roy to lay down on the couch who was looking at me with a face that screamed 'I AM FINE!' but how could it be possible? The CEO most probably died eating that!.

"captain ...I am fine..." roy again started to argue against.

"I think... he is fine Henry. I mean look at his face it literally yells 'FUCKIN LEAVE ME ALONE! I ATE SHIT AND I ENJOYED IT' umm.... what are you glaring at me for?" Ronald said but I glared at him to shut up.

"when did I even—ack aah"

Roy said and suddenly started to whine in pain and I felt like a sharp pin like pain started to numb my senses.

"what the hell? Officer! at least, if you are dying then die properly ouch! What the hell Henry! Don't freakin hit me "

I punched Captain Ronald who started sprouting non sense while Roy started to scrunch his face in a very painful manner and the only question in my mind was 'is he going to die?' 'I need to save him!'.'why is he so stupid?'.

"ack ahh captain....You- ahhh ack"

"It hurts...ahhh you---"

"where does it hurt?? Tell me!" I asked him quickly

"my stomach....argh and you... Argh.... you...you are standing on my feet! Ahh"

" ah I am sorry!! *gets off Roy's feet* just hold on Roy!!!. SOMEONE HELP! MEDICS! COME OVER HERE!!!" I yelled so loud yet there was no response and when I turned back , I saw Ronald signalling everyone to mind their own business and shooing them away.

HOW DARE HE! Is he crazy or something?.

"RONALD WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING??? CANT YOU SEE HE IS DYING?" I yelled at him.

"Captain .....I...ah I don't think I am going to make it!...please let it be....just....argh hear my last words and tell me something....ack—please ...was I--?"

Roy asked me with a very low tone and his eyes were almost closing. I felt some tears coming up in my eyes looking at him in such a poor state.

"yeah.... yeah.... just hold on! The help is on the way. I am listening tell me! Were you what?" I held his hand and asked him.

"was I...your.....good... argh officer buddy ack?" he asked me and suddenly held his stomach in pain. Tears welded in my eyes and i held him close and replied

"no....you were the best.....You are the best...no 1 too...and stop talking like this ....you aren't dying ok!" I said while shivering with nervousness.

"what did you just say henry?" I looked back at Ronald and gave him a sharp glare.

"shut up Ronald!" Ronald's face showed somewhat betrayal but he again started glarijg at Roy.

"I....ackkk ...arghhh.....I am glad.... I was your favourite best officer buddy.....I am so happy right now...ack" I heard him say when he started closing his eyes with a smile on his face.

I saw the last thing that Roy looked at Ronald and mouthed something to him and closed his eyes.

Tears started to fall from my eyes and I looked around in the room where no one dared to come close to us.

It ignited anger in me why people were so scared of coming close to us! Was it because they were scared of getting in contact with the poison? Or were they thinking of something else?.

I was just wondering about that when suddenly the body I was holding suddenly flew out of my arms and direct to the ground.

I was still in shock with Roy's sudden departure that I couldn't even noticed what happened. It was just like he was in my arms one second ago and now on the floor and when i got the grip of the situation I finally understood.

RONALD HAD KICKED ROY TO THE GROUND!!!.

"YOU PIECE OF BLOODY SHIT!"

What is going to happen now? Is Roy also going to die?

Why did captain Ronald kicked him?

Why didn't anyone came for Roy's rescue?
