Layla POV

"Lola, it time to get up, you don't want to leave a bad impression on your first day of your new school by being late" I hear my mom say and I got up since bad impression is not my type of thing. I got ready for school making sure to wear my best outfit. A girl got to look pretty on the first day of her new school that her mate school too.

After I got ready, I went downstairs to have breakfast. I sat down next to Logie and started eating my food. I hope I can make some friends and see Scott. I was so busy thinking that I didn't notice my dad talking to me until Logie elbows me. I look at him and he pointed towards dad with his eyes. I looked at my dad and saw that he was looking at us worriedly.

"I'm okay, dad I was just thinking. Were you saying something?" I ensured my dad so he is not worried.

"Okay, I was just saying to be careful showing your powers/abilities to humans at your school. You guys are going a human school unlike your supernatural school you guys went too. Humans don't take supernatural beings nicely. Promise me you guys will be careful" Dad

"I promise I will be careful. You will to right Logie" Layla said.

"Yes, I promise" Logie said back

"Okay, good. Now, Lola, you have to get going, you don't want to be late. Make sure you wear your sunglasses to prevent people from seeing your purple eyes. I notified the school about it. Your Mom will take Logan to his school" Dad said

"Okay, will do" I replied back as I looked at the time to see that I have 30min to get to school. I quickly finished my breakfast and put my plate and cup in the sink. I put on my shoes and say goodbye to my family and went out of the door to my car. It would only take me 10min to get school since I don't live that far from Beacon Hills High School. I got to school and find a parking spot. I have about 15min to find the office to get my schedule, find my locker, and my first-class. I get out to my car, making sure I have my sunglasses on. I went inside the school, try to find the office. I finally found it at the end of the hallway. I went inside, to the front table to talk to the lady siding behind it.

"Hi, ma'am, I'm new here and I wonder if I can get my schedule and locker number," I said to the lady.

"Hello, sweetie, call me Mrs. Wilson. I will get your schedule and locker number print if you can have a seat and wait while I get it print for you" Mrs. Wilson replied as she started to print my paper out for me. I sat down in one of the chairs next to the wall. Mrs. Wilson got up from her chair to get my paper from the printer and came towards me.

"Here's your schedule that also has your locker number on there. You just have to wait for principal Martin to show your locker and first-class" Mrs. Wilson said to me and I nodded and sit back down as she went back to her desk. I heard the bell ring and look out the window sit to the chairs. I saw students rushing to get to class. I sat back down on the chairs. As soon as I sit down, I saw a lady with dirty brown hair was coming towards me.

"Hello, you must be the new student, Layla. I'm principal Martin, but Mrs.Wilson probably already told you about me. It's nice to meet you" Principal Martin greeted me, putting her arm in front for a handshake. I shake her hands and greeted her back, "Hi, nice to meet you too."

She smiled and said, "And don't worry about the sunglasses, your father told me about your sensitivity to light. You're more than welcome to wear sunglasses. I notice all your teachers about this, so you won't have any problem. Let us go find your locker and first-class".

I nodded and followed her out of the office. The hallway was empty, everybody was already in their class. We walked a little bit away from the office to my locker which was the third locker up next to the staircase. "This is your locker. You can go ahead and put your stuff in there" Principal Martin said. I looked at my combination on my schedule and put in my lock and open my locker. I took out the books and pencils that I would need for my classes, and put my backpack in my locker, making sure to take my small pouch out of it. I closed my locker, making sure it is locked and turned to Principal Martin. She signaled me to follow her again. We went up the stairs to the second floor and took a right turn. She led me to the second class from the right of the staircase. She went inside, I follow behind her. She and the teacher exchanged a few words. Once I step inside the classroom, I can smell a wonderful scent. It smells like vanilla and cinnamon. I remember scent from somewhere. Before, I can look around to find where that scent is coming from. The teacher greeted me, "Hello, Layla, I am Mr. Crow, your chemistry teacher. It's nice to meet you."

I looked at him, smiled, and greeted, "Hi, Mr. Crow, it's nice to meet you too." Principal Martin taped my back and left.

"Class, we have a new student. Please treat her nicely" Mr. Crow said to the class and signaled me to introduce myself. I turn to the class and I was about to introduce, but I saw Scott, my mate. The vanilla and cinnamon scent was coming from him. I'm happy I have a class with him, but I saw that his eyes were red. I point to my eyes, trying to signal to him about his eyes. He kept looking at me confused. "Layla, are you okay? Is there something wrong with eyes?" I heard Mr. Crow ask.

"Yes, I'm fine. I will start introducing myself now." I assured.

"Hi, everyone. My name is Layla Irving. It's nice to meet you. I hope we can be friends." I introduce myself while looking at Scott and kept trying to tell him about his eyes. He finally got it and I saw him close his eyes. It would have been a problem if others saw.

"Why is she wearing sunglasses? I thought we are not allowed to wear sunglasses inside the school" a student asked. I was going to answer him, but Mr. Crow answered for me.

"Well, Her eyes are very sensitive to light. Her eyes can be damaged if exposed to light, which is why she needs to kept her sunglasses on at all times. I don't want to see any of you trying to take her sunglasses from. Got it?" Mr. Crow replied with a warning. All the students nodded scared. I can't help but laugh a little. I going to love this teacher.

"Good, Layla you sit in the seat across Scott. Scott, please--- Scott are you okay?" He said worriedly as Scott shooked his head and said, "Can I go to the nurse's office?."

"And, I will take him," Stiles said, putting his arm around Scott and getting him out of his seat. "Yea" Mr. Crow replied as Scott and Stiles went out of the class. He turned to me and said, "You may have a seat, Layla". I nodded and walked to my seat, worried about Scott. I going to ask dad about how to stop our eyes from glowing when we are near each other.
