Party at Stacey's: Your all invited

Caleb was teaching Angie's class maths that morning. He wore a loose t-shirt over a pair of red joggers. He tried as much as possible to dim his good looks to avoid the students ogling over him but he could never hide his perfection. His plaited hair was tied to the back in a ponytail which highlighted his rich brown caramel skin. Each word he spoke suited his lips as they curved to each pronunciation pulling Angie in. Thoughts of kissing him floated through her and she laid on her desk daydreaming of her sweet love affair.

Grrrrrrrgh..... The bell rang for the next lesson allowing Caleb to heave a sigh of relief. Never did he dream of a time when he would want to stay away from the ladies but now he dreaded each second he had to spend with the students. He wouldn't be here if not for his uncle's meddling. They wanted to teach him a lesson on maintenance in order to curb his reckless spending. Getting him a job as a mediocre highschool teacher, he would learn to make and manage his own money and truth be told, he wasn't having it easy making ten thousand Naira monthly. it was a slap to his face. A person of his caliber who was accustomed to squandering millions in the blink of an eye had been reduced to a peasant working for crumbs.

He stared hard at his reflection in the mirror of the teacher's restroom. " I can't wait to get back home and serve uncle Drey a taste of his own medicine."

Bella sat under the mango tree as usual. She hadn't attended any lessons but was indulging herself in one of her favourite webnovel books. Her music became her companion in Angie's absence. She really missed Angie and for a moment she regretted going against her feelings but she quickly reassured herself in thinking that she did what was right.

She leaned back against the tree and tuned up the volume to the maximum which prevented her from hearing the approaching footsteps of Angie. She sat next to Bella who was too occupied with her book to notice but Angie's cologne wafted into nose. Her eyes flew open and went straight to Angie's pretty face.

"I missed you so much ang" she took her in a tight embrace.

"Sure you did but you couldn't help but break Don's heart " She rolled her eyes.

" am sorry about that. I really am but it was inevitable. " She looked down at her fingers as she picked her nails nervously.

" I don't want to know why you did that cause I barely understand why you do what you do but at least apologise to him. You led him on and the next moment you crashed him down. Things like this really hurt" Angie placed a hand on Bella's shoulders.

Bella nodded in affirmation with Angie's request to apologise to Don. She decided to meet him after school with the help of her best friend in hope of a peaceful reconciliation.

" have you seen the substitute maths teacher " Angie's eyes shimmered as thoughts of Caleb filled her mind. " He is a real keeper. I bet tons of girls in his age grade would do anything to be at his beck and call. You should have seen him in a towel. I was even in his room" She rambled on her experience in Caleb's room excluding how he yelled at her. All the girls envied her experience, each wishing to have been the one in the room with him. Probably to throw themselves at his mercy.

Bella sat on a desk far from the rest as she listened to her friend's so called romance tale. Just then, Stacey walked into the classroom and all the voices stopped. All eyes went to her as it was very unusual for her to leave her class unless something was up. Something really juicy.

" There's gonna be a party by 8pm at my house and your all invited, including you Bella."

she walked out gracefully leaving the boys in a daze. Her cologne hung heavily in the air but they were still entailed by it.

The topic shifted to her party. Every one spoke over the other leaving no room for a definite voice.

" Her parties are always a rage"

"lots of girls in bikinis "

" loud music is really what brings the heat"

" whoever misses out on this would really suck it for the whole of half term "

" I wouldn't miss it for the world"

"is she now official with Don?"

That question spiked Bella's temper. Just one day they have a fight and he is already dating Stacey. Well she did ask him to date her but she didn't expect that he seriously would. Was he trying to make her envious or was he for real? Her head throbbed almost like she was banged simultaneously with a thousand hammers.

The bell rang but Bella was rooted to her seat. The possibility of an actual relationship between Don and Stacey loomed over her. Was he trying to punish her. 8f that was it, he was doing a pretty excellent job. she could feel her heart ache in a way she never feared it would. Even when her mom died her entire being was shaken but not to the point that she felt completely hopeless. At least she knew that suicide would allow her to see her mom but here and now she felt that she could nothing to win him back if he had truly deserted her. It was all her fault, she had pushed him away but what choice did she have when she knew vividly that she wasn't here to stay. Sooner or later, her heart would give up and she would join her mother in eternal glory so what was the point of even trying to be happy. Was there a reason to be happy? Her thoughts bounced against each other in a debate of choosing her selfish martyrdom over loving Don unconditionally.

Her head ached just to think about it but she was pulled back to reality by a tap on her shoulder.

" School was over thirty minutes ago. Don left super early with Stacey in preparations for tonight's party. Are you coming or not?

Angie questioned her resolve firmly.
