[THIRD POV]
[EARLIER]
After Alpha Rinzler entered Bedelia's chamber, Beta Shark excused himself to go and check how his family was fairing. He hasn't spoken with them as he has been occupied since morning.
However, if anyone asked him what he has been up to, he wouldn't give a straight answer.
With the death of Alpha Fisher, he was distraught even to the point he didn't realize he had only been in pain the morning he was inside Alpha Fisher's chamber with a crying Luna Audra. The pack too hadn't noticed as their focus was only on talking about the Alpha's family.
He could see the pack was only focused on the alpha's family but he couldn't help himself but ask his family not to come outside. Luckily, one kiss on his mate's cheek and the woman agreed to stay inside. She was one hell of a puppet.
No one ever trained him how to act after the death of alpha and he was confused as fuck, and since High Priestess Manne was the only one with no bond to another, he figure she would be a great asset when it comes to the funeral arrangement, oh, if only he knew.
First thing first, he had to check on how Alpha Fisher was doing and then return to speak to Mannequin. Arriving at the main door, he saw Alpha Fisher talking with wolves arriving, and hell, he seemed to have everything under control. So, Beta Shark turned on his heels and headed to Mannequin's chamber.
*
Inside her chamber, High Priestess Mannequin was shocked as he stared at Alpha Fisher talking to someone, what was happening?
She didn't recall that happening while she was there, what the actual hell? When she was in purgatory, she has been all alone, listening to the screams of the ancient damned high priests and priestesses. Seriously, why would the alpha get favors like that? She cursed.
She waved around and the images disappeared. Immediately, she knew she had to go to her hidden cave and handle everything from there.
She didn't have a problem regarding Luna Audra, the woman was as broken as they came. And even if she hadn't been already, High Priestess wouldn't have had any problem making her chug down some poisonous sleep potion herbs.
After she had dealt with the broken Luna, she had checked on Bedelia and had been excited to find her alone. She had knocked her down with magic and off she was ready to do her thing without worrying the doctor might come looking for her.
Now, as she sat in her bed, she was digging deeper into her mind, trying to figure out how to deal with the alpha in purgatory forever, she didn't even notice she had conjured a portal already leading to the cave.
"Mannequin, are you using dark magic?" Beta Shark asked with shock written all over his face.
Her fighting instincts kicked in faster, and she turned around and cast a sleeping spell on him, he fell to the ground with a thud. "Fuck."
Cursing at herself for forgetting to lock the door, Mannequin sighed as she looked outside the hall to see if any wolf was lingering around waiting for something juicy. She locked the door behind her and stared at Beta on the ground, "weak." She mumbled.
For around five minutes, she stared at Beta Shark, contemplating what to do to him.
An evil smile spread on her face, lucky her, an evil plan wasn't something she had to take all day to come up with.
*********
[PRESENT]
As much as she wanted him dead, she couldn't. Well, at least not now.
She searched for a rope and tied it tightly around his wrist. She huffed, she could have used some magic but what would be fun in that? Smiling at her handiwork, she slapped him severally, jerking him wide awake.
Holding his head, Beta Shark looked around, and then his eyes went wide open when he remembered what he saw earlier, "until me, now!" Beta Shark ordered.
"Hush, mind your tongue. The gossipers would think of something else." Mannequin mocked.
"Stop your menace and untie me right now." Beta Shark said, his voice dangerously lowly.
"I don't trust you, Beta Shark." Mannequin replied, her voice collected.
"I am the one who should tell you I don't trust you, what the hell?" He screamed.
"I don't recall ever asking for your trust," Mannequin whispered, staring menacingly at Beta Shark.
Beta Shark squirmed on the floor, there was something evil about the stare, he didn't like it at all, he looked at his hand and ordered again, "don't look at me like that, remove this shit."
"Well, aren't you full of yourself Beta Shark, you are in no position of ordering me."
He tried to pull on the rope and surprisingly, it didn't budge. "What the fuck?"
Shrugging, Mannequin lowered herself to the floor, "I know what you have been doing to Luna Audra. You sick sick sicko."
"What do you-" He stuttered, "what do you mean?"
"For years, behind the alpha, you have been sleeping with her," Mannequin whispered. Outside, she seemed as though she knew what she was talking about, inside, she was anxious that Beta Shark would know she was bluffing.
"No, I can't do that to my alpha." He shook his head.
"I know better, Beta Shark." She mocked and rose. "Unlike you and your weak bonds, I am strong and I see what is happening around here."
Beta Shark squeezed his eyes, and High Priestess Mannequin knew she has won. The man was easily manipulated, no wonder he has been doing Alpha Fisher's bidding for a long.
"What do you want?" Asked Beta Shark.
A knock came on the door, she untied him with eyes warning him not to do anything stupid. Lucky her, Beta Shark didn't even realize she has untied him. Pulling him up, she sat him on the chair and offered a warning glare.
She swung the door open. "Rinzler?" She asked, her heart accelerating, wondering if he has been there for long and if he has, did he hear.
