The Big And Painful Decision

Right after we were done shopping Deena's dresses, we went straight back to the chariot due to the surroundings already becoming dark. Night time was fast approaching and moreover, the cold wind makes it apparent that rain was most likely going to happen very soon.

"Young master? Where are we going?"

"I want to show you something,"

Both Deena and I were in the chariot on our way back home and seeing that I asked the coachman to drop us around a cliff, Deena inquired since there wasn't any significant event happening over there.

The coachman currently carrying us around town was one of the many coachmen present in my dad's home . Based on the fact that the chariot we were currently using belonged to my dad, the coachman also came from the Duke's mansion.

His initial purpose was to drop me off at my place then return back to the Duke's mansion but due to my abrupt action of taking Deena out for shopping, he had no choice but to be our designated coachman.

Just after we landed, I brought Deena towards the edge of the precipice. to view The Green Emerald City's landscape down below.

"Wow!! It's really nice up here. The city also looks amazing from here." Deena declared as she spreads her arms wide to feel the gentle breeze that grazed her skin and dress while the sweet scent of her perfume drifted through the air.

"You haven't seen anything yet. Just wait till its midnight and you'll see how beautiful this place really is, " I said as the wind ruffled through my silver colored hair.

Hearing my words, Deena smiled as she reveled in the soothing silence of the surrounding area. Noticing that time wasn't on our side, I decided to make my move.

"Deena? Are you happy living with us?" I asked as I turned towards Deena who instantly returned a priceless smile towards my way.

"Yes young master," she beamed.

"Then what are you not telling me?" I asked with my brows furrowed and my gaze aimed towards hers.

"Huh?" Deena's eyes were dilated in shock.

With her reaction just now, I knew I had hit the nail on the head. I knew something wasn't right with her for the past few years now. Deep down I knew she was hiding something. The signs were pretty obvious but I decided to give her the cold shoulders, after all, it was said that ignorance was bliss.

There were several times, she would unnecessary come to meet me in the kitchen. I knew she wanted to say something to me but was scared to say it and seeing this, I decided to let her be. At first I thought she was shy but as the same thing occurred and occurred over the years, I knew she was hiding something from me.

But this behavior of hers had become apparent to me ever since the girls were just at the age of one. There were countless times I thought I should ask her what it was that she had in mind but a certain part of me was scared. Scared of hearing something that will have to do with her leaving my side.

"Nothing young master. I'm not hiding anything from you,"

Deena replied as a strong gust of wind blew right past her dress and flapped the black jacket I wore. It won't be long before the cloudy sky starts to drizzle. It seems she's adamant enough not to say anything then I've got no choice but to do this.

"Take this Deena, it's for you." I said as I brought out an envelope with a folded paper in it.

"Uh? Young master? What is this?" Befuddled by what I gave to her, Deena inquired as she looks at me without even sparing a second to look at the paper. Is her female intuition already kicking in?

"It's the legal documentation that specifically states that as from this day forth, you are now a free person. You are free to do whatever you want and to be whoever you choose to be. Now you are no longer bound by law to stay in my house anymore. Your belongings and a huge pile of gold coins are present in the space cube inside the chariot. The coachman will take you anywhere you want to be, " I declared with my voice sounding strong but not devoid of depression.

While Deena was in the boutique looking and trying out new dresses, I had enough time to gather all her belongings into the space cube that was now in the chariot. Deena wasn't a stranger to my teleportation spell. So there's no reason for her to doubt my words.

"Uh?! Why? Young master! Don't do this," Deena yelled as her voice began to crack by the density of my declaration.

"This is where we part Deena. Thank you for everything. I hope you find your happiness,". I replied as I faced towards my rear to walk away.

I can't do it anymore. I can't look at her face anymore. I can't listen to her cries at night anymore. The pain it causes me to hear her crying almost every night hurts me to my core. This is the best I can do for her after all she had done for me. I want to cry but I won't. Not in front of her.

"No!! Please wait!! Young master!! Don't leave me!! Please!!" Deena yelled as her eyes began to stream in tears and her voice cracked with every word she uttered out.

I kept walking away as the once drizzling rain had now been replaced with an endless downpour of rain.

"Master!! Please!! Don't leave me!! I'm begging you!!" Deena yelled at the top of her voice before she subconsciously knelt down and cried.

'Don't look back Dante, it's best for both of us this way.' I kept saying to myself as I didn't stop to look back.

"Dante!!!!" Deena yelled this time around. I subconsciously stopped moving as my heart skipped a beat. It was the first time I had heard the words from her lips.
