CHAP 15: The Invasion

If you wondered where Courier and Doctor had gone to during that fight, Doctor was hidden behind the couch with Olivia and Courier had gone to the ambush location after Hacker had gone away flying on his drones. Brawler had been hit during his fight with the woman, but Doctor stitched him up, what we did after was going down through the elevator of the hotel, when we arrived at the ground floor, we were met with an barrage of bullets from the cops. Hiding behind the hotel check-in counter, i did hit some of the cops in the head when shooting back, and some more from behind cover.

I signaled for the Akudama to attack and gave cover to Olivia while she ran to the back doors, luckily the cops seemed to focus on me and Brawler, and she had enough time to hide inside the cleaning supplies room, i got out of cover and started helping the others in killing the cops. Doctor was throwing scalpels and some of her bottles in their direction, which made them cough and sleep, while Brawler threw chairs and tables at them, while Cutthroat picked them off one by one, and after a lot of casualties on their part, they finally retreated, leaving only the robots, which were not much of an threat, we then took care of them.

"Come on out, Olivia, everything is safe for now."

She opened the door ever so slightly and looked through the crack, when she saw it was me she opened the door and got out, hugging me and seemed as if she was almost crying. I caressed her head, whispering in her ear.

"I'm sorry, but you can't get emotional now, i'll make sure you get out of this alive, but i need you to stay as stable as possible, just trust me on this one."

"Okay, i'll trust you"

She said that and wiped the tears that started silently falling off her eyes. I picked her up princess-style and put her on the backseat of the police car, i got into the driver's seat and Brawler took the seat on my side, while the girls got on the backseat as well. I opened up the location Hacker had sent me on my phone and started driving there.

After about 10 minutes we arrived at the location, with Hacker with the cat on his arms and Courier leaning against his bike.

"You've finally arrived, the truck will pass through this street in about 1 minute, so get ready."

As he said that, i heard an truck coming, i'm not sure how far it was, but i knew i had only heard it because of my {advanced senses}, and i guessed it was about 300 meters away and rapidly approaching. I hid behind the dumpster together with Cutthroat, and after an little bit of time the truck passed, Hacker overrode the break system and the truck stopped, to which Courier lockpicked the door and Doctor pulled the driver off the vehicle and cut his carotid, i opened the cargo door from inside the driver compartment.

"So, who will drive?"

I asked and Olivia answered.

"I will, i don't have an criminal record, and his uniform will fit me."

"You sure?"

"Yes, about time i use your teachings for something"

She is continuing my narrative, good girl.

"Ok, so Courier will wait on the tracks, Hacker, Brawler and me go to one of the buttons and the girls go to the other one. We will deactivate the eletromagnetic barrier on the tracks once inside the station."

"Alright, let's do this."

We entered the cargo compartment of the truck, while Olivia changed into the Billiken Transports uniform and started driving. I was tracking the time the whole time, and we took 8 minutes to get to the point where the truck stopped, i heard Olivia getting out and lying to the guard, they grow so fast.

After 1 minute of putting the truck into the cargo platform of the station, we got out.

"We have about 20 minutes until the Shinkansen leaves, when the clock hits 19:45, we are to press the button, exactly when the clock turns, getting the timing right is of utmost importance."

"Right, right, let's go."

We divided ourselves into the planned groups, and ran to the corridors, the buttons were on different floors, so we had to take different elevators. We arrived at the elevator with 4 minutes left. and it took 1 minute to get to the button floor, when the doors opened, we found ourselves in an large hall full of torii gates in the way to the button. I tried walking through them, but there was an invisible barrier.

"This is an predicament, any ideas, Hacker?"

I asked Hacker, but Brawler came and punched the barrier.

"It did not fall? This will be an good fight then!"

Brawler started quickly punching the wall.

"If i found an terminal, i could override the barrier system, but we do not have enough time for that."

"Fuck, brute force it is then."

I pulled out my revolver, and tried using an magic bullet for the first time. I focused on the chamber for an moment, until i saw an purple ethereal gas fill up the bullet space. It's easier than expected, Death had quite an bit of trouble in doing this, maybe having his experience helped me do it more easily. I shot the barrier, it cracked an little. So i fanned it rapidly. I broke two barriers before my mana ended, each bullet took 10 mana. But i would not have enough time to recuperate it, we only had 1 minutes. Hacker started shooting lasers at the gates themselves, but they didn't budge. Brawler seemed to have an idea, and tried picking up the gate, he seemed to have some trouble, but once it did come out, he threw it at the other ones which made them fall in a domino-like pattern. The gate fell on the button, exactly as the clock hit 19:45.

An elevator opened up behind the button, it seems they managed to hit it at the right time. We ran inside, and after about 30 seconds we were in front of the Shinkansen.
