Gone Case

Hearing this question, Jay excitedly began, "Of course! Let me tell you sir, miss Erena is a goddess. A Living Goddess. No matter how simpler the makeup was, she looked stunning like an ethereal being. That's why I am confused, why did boss asked them to remove her makeup when she looked that beautiful. Now with the current look she does not look any different from her normal self" Jay asked scratching his head.

Li Yang burst into laughter. "Jay your boss is a gone case now. He is falling deeper and deeper into this booby trap from which he can't be salvaged now" Li Yang was amused. It was the first time he had seen his friend displaying this side of him. "You may go now before your boss finds out about this. Keep me updating" Li Yang chortled. His gossipy heart was ignited once again, 'I could finally live long enough to see rain on this barren land. I definitely have to know every detail of their story so I could tell their kids in the future. No one can stop me from being their favourite uncle'. Unknown to him that his own blood will backstab him in the future and snatch this position from him.

That night, after attending the banquet, Elliot dropped Rain to her apartment, while poor Jay was tasked to go to their base to investigate about the case. Elliot had given him a deadline to submit his investigation report by tomorrow. The discrepancy in the treatment between both his assistant was way too transparent but he could only complain in his heart as there was a huge possibility that his competitor might turn into his lady boss in the future.

The next day, as he had to submit a report, Jay came late as it took him a while to make a final draft of the report. It did not bother him anyway, as with Rain here, his boss wouldn't even notice if he was to disappear for a day. But when he arrived at the office, he was surprised seeing the panic-stricken face of his co-workers.

He asked one of the employees, "What happened? Why are you all agitated?"

"Where were you? You are finally here assistant Jay. Please save us. Our President is akin to a devil today, ravishing anyone and everyone crossing his path, except for… except for…" He dared not mention the name in fear that he would spout some nonsense.

"Except for miss Erena" Jay sighed deeply.

"Yes, Yes… except for her, boss is trashing around everyone. All those who attended the morning meeting, are asked to redo every proposal as it didn't meet boss's expectations. Even the departments at the lower levels are in a mess because of this. I must say, Miss Erena is very capable to be able to meet boss's expectations in every task. She is so cool to be able to dodge the wrath of the devil." The employee said in admiration.

'What do you know, you mere mortal. It's not her work but the person herself.' Jay mocked the employee in his mind as he sprinted towards his boss's office in case, he becomes the next cannon fodder. 'But what happened to boss? Why is he behaving this way? Wasn't he happy last night after the banquet?'

Just as he entered the room, he noticed his boss submerged in his work with dark circles under his eyes. 'What happened to boss?' he wondered.

Unknown to him, last night after the banquet, his boss was unable to get a wink of sleep as a certain someone kept appearing before his eyes just as he closed them. Elliot regretted taking Rain to the stylist and cursed her the entire night for doing such a good job on Rain, especially, highlighting her eyes. He twisted and turned but could not get the image of Rain out of his head.

"Mmm Boss..." Jay called slowly, testing the waters. "I came with the investigation report."

"Oh! The great assistant Jay finally got the time out of his busy schedule to show his face in the company. Why are you standing? Sit down sir. Let me order some refreshments for you." Elliot said as soon as he noticed Jay.

'Dead. I am dead. The devil has been awoken.' Jay shivered. "Boss it's my incompetence that it took so long for me to complete this report. But you should see this" Jay ventured to divert his boss's attention.

"Show me what made the great assistant to be this late." Elliot mocked Jay.

Jay wanted to cry. He quickly took out his tablet and presented it to his boss in case his ears starts bleeding from his boss's jabbing words.
