Little Accident

Upon hearing the disconnected tone, Elliot felt even more disheartened and burrowed himself under the work dejectedly, to keep his mind from running wild, heeding Li Yang's advice.

While in the other side, Rain was in no better condition than him.

She felt uneasy since morning like something was nagging her heart. She looked on as Elliot drained coffee like water and brought three of his employees to tears while she could not ask him what was wrong? Why he was in such a foul mood. Later when he asked for coffee once more, she wanted to refuse him and bring him a glass of juice, she wanted to ask him the reason behind his foul mood so she could pacify him, but…

But just as these thoughts weight down on her, she remembered Dr, Rishi's words to stay away from him.

And she trusted Dr. Rishi more than she trusted herself. She knew that if he had asked him to stay away from Elliot, there must be a reason. She did not want her condition to alter once again exposing her and her brothers, which may put her brother's life in danger too. She could bear to let mishap befalling her but not her innocent brothers. Hence, she had to listen to Dr. Rishi on this matter and had to stay away from Elliot despite this feeling of uneasiness.

The day came to an end with this gloomy atmosphere. The Employees heaved a huge sigh of relief to be able to go to their home unharmed. They prayed that their boss would be in a better mood tomorrow because when he was mad, it was akin to a sharp sword pointed at their neck. They believed that their boss was more suitable to be a king of underworld than a businessman. On the top of that, their boss had mood swings worse than the girls. Working for such a big corporation was not easy okay.

Unknown to this chaos, Jay was in his own world, tracing that guy unceasingly. At last, his hard work paid off and he got some results. He beamed with joy and quickly made his way to give his boss this information and garner some praise from him, unknown to what actually awaited him.

When he reached the office building, everyone gave him pitiful gazes as if asking him to save them. He was confused that why were they behaving like this until… Until he got to see for himself.

The moment he stepped into the president's office, Elliot incinerated him with his lava of words. "Oh! Look who is here? You finally got time to come here? I just asked you to trace a person and you dared to take leave for an entire day and came only now when the working hours are almost over, based solely on this reason? I think I have been too easy in you that you have begun to slack off, assistant Jay. You are rusted. Just resign if you found this job tiresome. You don't need to come here anymore."

Jay was stumped, "But boss you were the one who asked me to trace him as soon as possible and even allowed me to take leave if the need arise."

"You dare to talk back to me? Do you think that you are so great now?" Elliot just wanted some punching bag right now to let out his pent-up frustration whose responsibility Jay was fulfilling right now. Unfortunately.

Jay wanted to cry and bowed. " I am sorry sir. I won't repeat this again." Then he stepped up and gave Elliot a big envelope, the culprit behind his plight right now. "This is all the information on this man that we could get. We could not find much about him, just that his name is Obi Uchi. He is from Abrea, but he ran out of his home after he was charged with a case of bullying in school when he was a teenager. After that it was like he had vanished from the face of Earth until he reappeared in the black market, involving himself with child trade in Geblurg. He disappeared again after the incident of Warerior peaks until recently. Recently he has reappeared in this country and is involving himself in the black market here. I think someone powerful is supporting him in the dark for him as he is rising quite quickly in the market." Jay finished his report.

"Keep this folder here and get back to work. I don't want you slacking off your work." Elliot said, annoyance still evident in his voice. He wanted to look at this information carefully to take his next action.

Jay nodded and retreated from there, feeling wronged.

Just then, Rain entered the office with a cup of coffee. Just as she neared the office desk, her gaze landed in the contents of the file that Jay had just delivered. Her hands shook and the cup fell from her hands falling on the ground making a clattering sound.
