Chapter Five: The Prince (Part 1)

When I was walking out of the communal shower, suddenly I also realized some important thing about me that Nagisa and her twin seemed to forget completely.

What about my breakfast, ladies and gentlemen?

Usually, I skipped lunch and ate only two meals a day to save cost since the food downtown was super expensive, so yeah, breakfast was very important for me. But these kids had been dragging me around since I woke up, heck, last night even, and they didn't even think about showing me where to have my precious breakfast, but rather summoned me to work right away? Do demi-gods not eat? And where were them manners?

Man, the gen beta was seriously f*cked...

Still, as I was having that thought, I knew full well that there's no way would be I able to object to these Hunters. I simply had to accept my fate... So I lifted my head up, taking a look at this blue ray of light that miraculously came out of my holowatch as soon as I had set foot on the floor outside the communal shower.

Just 'follow it through'... and it would lead me to the arsenal, she said. But if I happened to come across a room with the sign 'Canteen' on it, I would stop at that place first without a second thought, though.

...On the condition that there would be no men staring at me and trying to eat me instead of their brunch in there, of course.

Talking about hungry men, I wondered where Leo had gone. Dude literally snarled at people trying to keep them away from me earlier, but now he just decided to vanish into thin air? Or something had come up to him?

Whatever... A knight in shining armor who boasts his own superiority was no good, after all.

So I shook my head at the thought and began following this ray of light all the way through, along the way I found that most of the rooms in this corridor that led to the arsenal were labeled as something like 'Hazardous Chemicals Storage', 'Specimen Storage', 'Rage Room' and etc. Bad news for me, surely no matter how weird these Hunters were, they wouldn't place a canteen so close to a rage room and expect the smashing to stay inside that room.

The good thing was, back then, there were so many days that I didn't get to eat even a single meal during the day, and my stomach had been taught to withstand hunger already. It wouldn't rumble so easily. The feeling of hunger wouldn't come up to me so quickly.

I was good at being pushed to the extreme... In fact, I didn't really mind finishing this business first and be done with it before going home to have my FREE first meal of the day.

Although having said that, I guessed I should hurry my steps anyway, it was almost 11:00 A.M. I would hate being stared down by those cold blue eyes of THE law enforcer.

However, as I was picking up my pace, suddenly I heard a voice - a high-pitched singing voice so silvery like that of a diva, I almost immediately paused to turn my head around and try to find the source of it. And it was of a language I had never heard before, not even Latin, since I had studied a bit of Latin and I kinda got a grip of how the language should sound.

It captured my mind in an instant, and then my body. I tilted my head out of curiosity as I was trying to figure out which way did the voice come from... Should it be considered as strange or not that I felt like following it through to the person who sang such a beautiful song?

Never mind. Before I realized it, my body had already set its destination to the source of that voice and started walking the opposite way of the arsenal. How did I know which way I should go? I didn't know. It was the work of my instinct or something. My legs kept moving and moving by themselves, and maybe they did move a bit too fast since I also felt slightly dizzy during the whole walk.

Eventually, I arrived in front of a room where the voice seemed to be coming from; a room so massive, I'd rather call it a hall. When I looked inside of it, at first I could see nothing but white, because everything in that room, from its walls to its hundreds of ornaments of several types, all had the color range from white to milky to gray, some were even iridescent, and there was not a single dark-shaded color object in there, making the room looked tremendously bright compared to most parts of the HQ that I had seen.

Strangely, it gave me an impression of a church, even though a huge cross that was supposed to be in the middle of the room was nowhere to be seen. Still, there was that one big rectangular altar lying on an ivory-colored carpet at the far end of the aisle, which could be the reason why this place gives off such a religious vibe.

When my eyes flickered to the ancient-looking wooden sign with gold trim above the door, I was not even surprised to see the words 'Hall of Faith' etched onto it.

So that singing voice... it was a chant of prayer?

Then what kind of a chanting voice could travel across the air that far? It was the voice of one person, and it had been like... 5 minutes since I started walking from there to here.

How weird... or more like, creepy--

"Hello, young believer, are you new here?"

"...?!"

Hence, the moment when all of a sudden, that same voice but it was in a speaking form rang up from behind me, I almost choked on air. My head turned to the back so fast, I was afraid of breaking my own neck.

And then, the very first second I saw that person's face, I felt like the whole world just froze in time.

The first thing on their body that caught my eyes was their hip-length silver hair which looked so luxuriant and sleek as silk. Second, they were those almond-shaped golden eyes that looked so bewitching and surreal. That face of his or her was of a fine diamond shape and half of it got covered behind a white veil, giving off a sense of mystery and purity, combined with their fair skin and their pure white dress, it made them look exactly like a divine being.

Never in my life had I ever seen a person so breathtakingly gorgeous and alluring; so celestial and majestic. Just like an angel who had descended from above.

So beautiful that my heart throbbed.

"Hello? Young believer? May I know your name?"

And their voice... Oh, their voice, it sounded so melodious and euphonic that I swore I might have melted just hearing them speak close to my ears. How could a person have a voice so angelic and heavenly, that it didn't even sound human?

Ah... But nevertheless...

"Oh, this sweet scent? Well, well, aren't you the Angel we've been waiting for, Adel Ozwald~"

When such a voice suddenly shifted from a high-pitched silvery tone like that of a girl to a low-pitched fruity one like that of a man, I found myself unable to speak, or even just emit the slightest bit of sound.

...

WHAT THE--

"In this case, I guess I should be the one who introduces himself to Your Highness first~"

"..."

'Himself'

So... the correct pronoun was 'Him'

"I am Orobas, Prince of Hell, the 55th demon of the Lesser Key of Solomon, under my command are 20 legions."

"A pleasure to meet you, Your Highness~"

When the 'angel diva' in front of me reached for my hand, and then gave it a soft and gentle kiss, like a knight kissing the queen's hand, I couldn't even move my pinky finger. From head to toe, my body was frozen like it got stuck in the glacial age's ice.

"Nice to meet you... too..."

So it was a 'He' and he was a prince...

"..."

AND A DEMON???!!!
