There was a loud scream. One filled with awareness. With dread.
Sky was awake.
The atmosphere in Noel's living room was tense—awkward silence hovering over the friends like an invisible cloud. Rain stood stiff, her gaze laser-focused on the stairs where Sky's scream had just pierced through the house.
Henry and Noel exchanged wide-eyed glances. Normally, they'd burst out laughing at the dramatic situation, but even they could sense how... serious things were now.
They were currently crashing at Noel's family place. His house was the closest to Sinclair's and they had come here at night.
Currently, his parents were out, so they house was left to them.
Rain turned to them with a glare sharp enough to cut them. "Stay back," she ordered, her voice fierce.
Noel's brow furrowed. "But this is my house," he muttered, sounding bewildered. "That's my room—"
"Don't care." Rain's tone brooked no argument.
