Surprise!!!!

Hide.

Do not say a word.

Chris had heard those correctly, but his brain was too slow to react after what had just happened between them.

And it seemed like Sky's brain was also slow because why didn't he give him time to go hide in the bathroom instead like some secret lover in a cheap drama.

But he had no time to think things through either because he quickly sank lower into the bed and threw the covers completely over him.

Sigh!

The things he did for this guy.

The door finally creaked open.

"Mom," Sky greeted, voice still slightly out of breath. "You're up early." Sky stood by the door like a guard dog, his body blocking any possible entrance.

He looked too guarded.

"When did you even come in? I was thinking of calling you."

"Last night," Sky said quickly.

She narrowed her eyes.

"Hmm." She looked him up and down.

Then—

"I heard voices," she said suddenly.
