Wynn was Just about to go and look for Lilith when she came walking down.
"Hey, Lia, I was just about to look for you. What were you doing."
"Nothing much, just cleaning up your room and putting my things away."
"Oh, so you plan on staying in my room and not a guest room."
"would you want it any other way?"
"Haha, nope. But be warned. I normally sleep with a body pillow, so expect cuddles."
"You make that sound like a bad thing."
Walking closer to him, Lilith wrapped her arms around Wynn's neck and gave him a quick kiss.
Picking her up by the thighs, Wynn carried her to the living room and put on a movie, cuddling in wait for Vera so they could eat dinner.
A long 30 minutes later, Vera had finished her shower.
Wynn seeing what she was wearing, had to remind himself that she was his sister.
She was wearing a pair of dolphin shorts that really showed off her luscious thicc thighs and perky ass. In combination with the loose-fitting tank top that exposed her flat and toned stomach. It was hard for Wynn not to stare.
Lilith and Vera both noticed the looks Wynn gave her but pretended not to notice.
The three of them had a nice dinner.
The storm had only gotten fiercer, and the night became colder.
Vera ended up putting on one of Wynn's new hoodies. They turned off the lights and huddled-up on the couch to watch a movie drinking hot cocoa.
40 min into the movie, the storm only grew more violent when, all of a sudden, the power went out, followed by complete and utter silence.
Before any of them could say anything, white light flooded the room, blinding them, followed by a sound so loud they could feel it in their bones.
Wynn POV
Opening my eyes, what I saw confused me.
Instead of seeing my home ceiling, I saw a vast open sky as far as the eye could see. The bluest blue and just the right amount of clouds. It was the definition of a perfect sky.
Coming to my senses, I got up and looked around. No words could describe the relief I felt when I found Vera and Lilith next to me.
Now that I knew they were safe and sound, physically at least, I noticed we weren't the only ones there.
In fact, there were at least a few thousand people of all ages, sexes, and ethnicities.
Ignoring them for now and the fact we were now outside on a grassy plain. I went to make sure Vera and Lilith were ok.
"V, Lia, you girls ok?"
"Y-yeah, I'm ok."
Vera, despite saying that looked a little nervous and clung to my arm.
"I'm fine, you good."
"Confused but otherwise, all good."
"Stay together, and stay close. People will start to panic, panic breeds fear, and fear brings danger."
Vera, who was now calmed down, was still clinging to my arm.
"I have read enough novels to know what happens next. Something or someone will appear before anything bad happens to explain what is happening."
"Vera, real life and fiction are different, or did the stress make you go crazy."
"Whaddya say."
"Girls, please, no fighting."
It was just as Vera said. Before anyone could truly start to panic, a man appeared floating in the sky far above us.
Behind him, something similar to a Jumbotron appeared, displaying the man for all to see.
There wasn't much to say about him. He is what most would consider conventionally attractive.
He had near short black hair, sharp typical Asian features, and was dressed in a fantasy-Esque butler suit.
"Hello and welcome all. I am sure you all have several questions, and I will happily answer them after I'm done."
I was surprised no one interrupted him. It's probably that weird pressure and sense of authority he was exuding.
"I will start by saying no, I can not return you home, and most likely, you will never return. I was in your position once, but that is a story for another day. *Sigh*."
"Rejoice all, for you have been unfor, I mean fortunate enough to be chosen by the Gods for a chance to enter what the 'players' have come to call Babel. Power, money, women, and even godhood, all of this and so much more are attainable for those who enter. But with it comes danger. For those who seek the treasures of the beautiful world of Babel, do so knowing their life could end at the moment."
That was a drastic change in personality from bored and lazy to energetic and happy.
"Great, now that that sorry excuse of a sales pitch is out of the way. I welcome you to the garden. Think of this as a placement test. The better you perform, the higher in Babel you will be placed. After I leave, you will all gain access to Babel's system. As the name suggests, it is a tool used to track your stats, skills, titles, etc. I think that's just about everything. Any questions?"
Breaking the silence that followed such an awe-inspiring speech was a handsome youth.
He had short blonde hair, a lean build, and an aura that gave off main character energy.
"Yes, I have a question. You said this was a test. What exactly does this test entail?"
"Very good! At least one of you has enough brains to ask."
"It is a 'simple' survival challenge. Your task is to survive 3 months. As you can guess, there is more to it than that. Every night you will be attacked by a wave of monsters, starting from the weakest, and getting progressively stronger. Don't worry though, there are severy supply depots. If you are lucky to find one, you can find weapons, food, water, and things to help you make a shelter. Anything else."
"Thank you, and yes. You said all we have to do is survive to pass. I'm assuming if you don't kill anything and just rely on others, you will be placed lower. But what happens if you die."
"Hahaha. You are a promising one. Yes, you are correct. Those who can't kill and rely on others to survive aren't needed in Babel. As for what happens when you die, you die... It seems that's time. I wish you luck and did you adieu."
Wynn POV
This whole thing sounds like a pain in the ass.
"Vera, Lia, stay together and be on guard."
At times like these, I am thankful for having military parents. Who would have guessed all that Training the old parents gave us would come in handy?
"Everyone. I know this situation is scary and surreal, but please don't panic. It will only cause more fear, and that could end badly..."
I hate these types. The hero. Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful someone is doing it.
But those who prioritize the need, want and happiness of others will only end up losing the things he loves.
My priorities are Lia and Vera. Sure they are more than capable of protecting themself. That doesn't stop me from worrying about my family.
Hmm? Seems like they're the people are splitting into groups. I don't know what's happening. I zoned out when Mr. Hero was giving his speech.
"Wynn, WYNN!"
"Yeah, what's up, Lia."
"Stop zoning out. *Sigh* the hero wanna be managed to calm everyone down. They are now splitting into groups to look for shelter, water, and a supply depot. We should go as well."
"Yeah, we should."
"Hi there. You three don't seem to have a group wanna join us."
Great, we were too late.
What a tricky situation to be in. To reject and risk offered some dudes ego, or join and most likey endup fight over some stupid shite.
Oh! Isn't that the dude who asked the questions? Befriending him could be beneficial, but I don't like the way he's looking at Vera.
He's hiding it very well, but I know what it looks like to be infatuated with someone. Strange, it's not lust, but Love?
I know we have never met him before... Strange.
"Wynn!"
"Hmm, what you need?"
"You did it again."
"Sorry about him. He does that a lot."
"No problem, there is a lot to think about. Hi there, My name is Lucas Light. The girl on my right is Aoi Soma, and next to her is her brother Ryo. On my right is Loreley Schuster, and next to her is Go Jiwoo."
'English, Japanese, German, and Korean. It seems people from all over the world were brought here.'
"Hi. My name is Wynn. I'm assuming Lia and V introduced themselves?"
"Yes, they did. So what do you think? Do you wanna team up?"
"Lia, V?"
"I'm fine with it."
"It would help, but if they do shit we don't like, we can always leave."
"Well, you heard them. We shall be a team for now."
The Korean dude didn't seem too happy with my answer. Great trouble already.
"Great, let's pick a direction and go. Not too many people seem to be going to the forest. Why not give it a shot."
