Chapter 31

"Do you think he is enjoying himself?" Leonard asked Tris standing beside him as they both checked on Soot at the other corner, where they had left him on a bar stool right beside the bar counter for him to make connections of his own. He looked very uncomfortable, as if a horse had been pulled out of its habitat to mingle with the street dogs.

"Look at his face. What makes you think he is having a good time? That man is literally suffering." Paula yelled over the sound of ear piercing music as she came to stand beside them with a large bottle of beer in her hand. The club was packed with people, dancing and drinking. On the other side, Soot was exactly where they left him fifteen minutes ago, alone and awkward.

"We should rescue him." Said Tris and both Paula and Leonard snapped their neck to him, confused.

"From?" They asked in unison.

"From himself. He needs help socializing. We should help him."
