CH 06 ~ Goodbye My Love

"May i have the honour to dance with you, beautiful lady?"

A cold but charming voice rang from behind and Rennie, who was about to reject the person who offered her for a dance as usual, untill she him.

'A-Alex?'

The man was wearing a black tuxedo with his hair neatly combed backwards.

His long slender legs with a muscular upper body made him look hot in the slim fitted suit he wore.

Rennie was wearing a red coloured formal party dress, but the fitting of the dress made her curvy body look more sexy even if she wasn't exposing her body.

Her long light brown hair was open and her brown eyes sparkled as she looked at him.

Rennie calmed down her fast beating heart and smiled at Alex before she placed her hand in his.

"Sure, it's an honour to be your partner...

President Crawford."

Hearing her words, Alex was a little stunned.

'Does she perhaps remember me?'

His heart beat faster at the thought but he decided to confirm it.

"Do you know me?"

But his question made her think he doesn't remember her and thus he asked her this.

Rennie faked a smile and chuckled lightly as she spoke.

"President Crawford, Who doesn't knows you in this whole city and dares to refuse you?"

Hearing her words, Alex gave Rennie a sarcastic smile and took her into the middle of the dance hall.

He placed his right hand on her waist and his left hand was holding her right hand.

While she placed her left hand in his shoulders and they started to dance.

"So is this why despite rejecting everyone, you accepted my invitation?"

Rennie looked into Alex's deep blue eyes and spoke mockingly.

"Kinda?

But it was also because as long as a woman doesn't like mens or have someone she loves, no one can reject you because of your looks."

Both of them chuckled as Alex twirled her around and pulled back her into his embrace again.

"Should i thank my parents for their excellent gens that made me look handsome then?"

Rennie laughed at his words and he smiled after seeing her beautiful smile.

"I didn't knew that the poker faced, cold President Crawford can crack jokes."

"It depends on the person. I don't crack jokes with everyone."

"So, What made President Crawford crack jokes with me?"

"Maybe because Ms.Millicent is beautiful?"

"Then i should thank my parents right after i go back home for their excellent gens."

Alex let out a little laughter from the corner of his mouth and they kept talking while dancing.

Ignoring the whole world, that was staring at them intensly.

'Isn't that President Crawford and Ms.Millicent?'

'Why are they dancing together?'

'Do they know each other?'

'They look so good together!'

'A handsome man with a beautiful lady.'

From then on, they started to meet each other frequently outside of their works.

They would go on dates since then or chat with each other till midnight.

They went from calling each other with their names and then to nicknames, until Rennie's father noticed it and proposed the contract infront of Alex.

He never liked it, when someone forced him and that was exactly what Vincent Millicent did.

Alex thought it was Rennie, who did it as he was a perfect candidate to be her husband and even if he loved her, he wouldn't tolerate it.

He wanted to take things slow, let them enjoy each others company.

But the push made him step back more.

So after their marriage, he distant himself from her.

But still, he couldn't help but want to get close to her.

That's why, he always worked till late at night and came back late as he can't sleep without holding her.

Rennie wasn't mistaken about his love as he really had feelings for her but with the contract between them, he choose to distance himself.

Hurting Rennie, who didn't even knew about the contract.

Now that he knows that, it wasn't her so he doesn't have to distant himself or keep his emotions in anymore.

Tommorow, he will clear up all the misunderstandings between them.

There will be no divorce or separation between them, nothing can stop them anymore.

Alex dreamt about their life before the marriage where Rennie dreamt about their life after the marriage.

How pitiable she was for the past one year.

Rennie waked up at five in the morning and was surprised to find Alex sleeping with her, in his arms.

Alex always woke up before her, thus she never knew that she had always slept in his arms.

'My head hurts so much...'

Rennie woke up and dragged her body to the bathroom, ignoring the mess in the floor.

Their clothes was shattered on the floor, along with the rose petals and wrinkled bedsheets.

Her body was aching so much that she felt that she was run over by a truck.

This made her realise what they have done last night clearly.

'That bastard... Doesn't he knows how to restrain himself?!'

Rennie didn't dared to look at her naked body as her body was full of hickey marks.

She took a bath and cleaned herself up quickly.

Then she came out and her eyes fall on Alex, whose back was facing her and she horrifically stared at his back.

'D-did i did that to him last night?'

Alex's back was full of sharp nail scratch, it was so deep that there was even faint bloods on his back.

But soon she calmed herself down.

'He deserves it. Who told him to sleep with a drunkard?'

Rennie packed her necessary items in a small bag and stepped out from the room, not even glancing at Alex once.

Each step she took felt heavy.

Rennie reached the hall room and remembered all the drama from yesterday.

She took out the divorce papers from her bag and signed her name with difficulty.

As he is the man, whom she loved dearly until yesterday… maybe today too.

But she can't afford to love him anymore.

'Huh? madam woke up early today?'

The butler who was preparing the breakfast saw Rennie and came to great her but Rennie shocked him by handing the divorce papers to him.

"Madam? What's the meaning of this?"

"It's my one year marriage anniversary gift from your Master. Just give it to him."

Rennie had given the maids and butler a holiday yesterday for their marriage anniversary.

She wanted to be alone with him, thus they didn't knew about the things that had happened.

Rennie said nothing after that and left with her bag, not caring about the dumbfounded butler.

Standing at the entrance of the house, she took out her mobile and blocked Alex from everywhere including his number.

'Goodbye my love. It's time to welcome my freedom once more then...'
