Chapter 51

Ryan and I just remained quiet for sometime staring at the two gossips who just stood by the door staring back at us. Ryan stood up to leave without packing his books that spilled in the room earlier.

"Ryan, your books", I reminded him and he began packing them into his bag.

"See you tomorrow ", he said heading towards the door after packing forgetting the day after was a Saturday.

"Will you come here tomorrow?", I asked him and he gave me an are you serious look. "Tomorrow is Saturday ", I reminded him before he gave me a straight.

"It skipped my mind, I'm out", he said and without waiting to listen to any words from me, he left.

Ryder and Jennie rushed inside after Ryan had left and I knew the very reason why they came in, just to ask about what had happened.

"Is it true?", was the first question Jennie asked when she got to my side.

"What did you hear?", I questioned her back.

"Come on Ash, you know what she's talking about. Just answer", Ryder jumped in.

"Why were you both eavesdropping in the first place? Jennie?", I had to mention her name since she could answer the question I just asked both of them.

"Curiosity, I guess", she answered raising her shoulders.

"Now can you tell us, is it true Ryan was framed?",Ryder was fast to ask.

"So you heard. Well, that's what it is", I simply answered.

"I'd kill Juan if I ever lay my eyes on her", he made empty threats.

"What's going to happen to Keenan and Ryan now? Will they come back to being friends?", Jennie asked as if I could read the minds of the two.

"Ryder would be in the best position to answer that question since he's the best man of Ryan "

"I can't know what he's thinking now because he hasn't been in such a situation before", Ryder replied.

"You can leave now since the meeting today has turned into a mess", I said to Ryder and he agreed. He left to get his bag before leaving .It was now left with Jennie and I to think things through. As I got up to leave the study to my room, I saw a white paper which looked like an envelope. I took it to read with the curious Jennie beside me.

'Mr Ryan Parker', was the name written on the envelope. It fell when Ryan's booked spilled on the floor. I didn't like the idea of going through people's stuffs but the other side of me was curious to know what was written in it.

"Jennie, it belongs to Ryan ", I told her since she continued stretching her neck to find out what it was.

"Let's read it, it might be of help to us", she said and I agreed with her. I opened the envelope carefully trying my best not to destroy it.

'How are you feeling today sir? The result of the last test came out this coming and we decided to give you the response as soon as possible. From our findings, we noticed without the transplant you won't be able to last for more than three weeks. We plead with you to accept the transplant you have been refusing . We hope to get a positive feedback from you soon because we already have a kidney donor who is the perfect match for you. Thank you.'

My shoulders dropped after reading the letter to the end. My heart ached so much upon the information that ,Ryan had little time left to live. Jennie was just as shocked as I was.

I felt heartbroken that I didn't know tears were already rolling down my cheeks.

"Ash, you are crying"

"No I'm not, I'm just sweating".

"Whatever you say. So what do we do now?"

"What I want to know now is why he has refused to accept the transplant", I said curiously.

"Are you planning on confronting him about it?", I thought I was curious but Jennie was the real definition of curiosity.
