Chapter 75

"Why did you do that?", was the first question he asked when I sat beside him. I was nervous for no reason. I thought he was angry at me for making such a decision without his consent but he had to know my decision brought him back from the dead.

"Why did I do what?", I asked knowing very well what he was talking about.

"Don't play dumb Mrs Parker, anyone who enters the Parker family has to be smart and intelligent ", he said trying to sit on the bed.

'What is he trying to say and who told him I want to be part of his family?', I thought to myself.

"What do you mean by what you are saying and who are you calling Mrs Parker?", I asked him.

"You signed my consent documents as my fiancé therefore, you got engaged to me. Did you think about the aftermath before making such a decision?"

"Do you want to die?", I threatened with furrowed eyes but it didn't scare him one bit.

"Why do you think I refused the transplant so many times?", he scoffed.

"You …you really wanted to die? For what reason?", I couldn't stop my curious self from asking.

"Because living wasn't fun..Forget about me and let's talk about us", he said trying to sit well.

"Don't hurt yourself, your wound is still fresh ", I warned trying to help him sit in the position he would feel comfortable with.

"And what about us?", I finally asked after helping him out.

"Since you saved a dying man, don't you think you have to be responsible for him?"

"Why can't you be serious once in your life? Anyways I just came to check up on you when I heard you were awake"

"You really do care about me", he winked mischievously.

"I have to get going before Ana starts getting worried", I got up from his bedside to leave.

"When did the doctor say I'd be able to go home?", he asked. I knew he didn't want to spend enough time at the hospital but there's was nothing I could do and it depended on how fast he could heal.

"I'd have to ask the doctor about that", I told him and left for the doctor's office. I didn't know what was going on in his mind but I didn't care since I was able to save a life.

In the doctor's office***

I entered the doctors office after I was asked to after a while of knocking.

"Please sit miss…", he waited for me to speak.

"Aislin", I told him and he nodded.

"Miss Aislin. How may I help you?", he asked after learning my name.

"Ryan wants to know when he would be discharged, he's not feeling comfortable in here", I delivered Ryan's message to him.

"He can't stay away from you for just a second, I'd that what you are trying to say?", he asked deviating from the main point.

"Not at all doctor, he's just not comfortable in hospital gowns", I said gaining a smile from him.

"You don't have to feel embarrassed talking about your love life with me, I'm a doctor you know", he was getting on my nerves and it was my fault. He thinks there's some intimacy between Ryan and I.

"My…fiancé…just wants to know when he will be discharged, okay?", I said and a satisfied smile crept on his face.

"Usually, one must stay in the hospital for five to seven days before being discharged after the surgery but he would regain his full energy within three to five months", he stated gaining a nod from me.

"Do you mean he would have to stay here for a week?"

"He can be discharged after three days depending on how fast his system adapts to his new kidney", he clarified.

"Oh, I see", was the only words I was able to form. "I'd deliver the information to him then", I said getting up to leave.

"I'd be very glad if you could do that", he said giving me a handshake which I accepted. I left the doctor's office and headed back to Ryan's room.

He was sound asleep when I entered and because I didn't want to disturb his sleep, I closed the door gently and left home. It was already 8:00 and I had to go to bed too. I washed down a bit before jumping into my bed to sleep.
