Lucy and Amy remained with the old man chatting as Louise went to get them lunch. But in the middle of their chat, Lucy received a call to check on her little brother Lewis who was in tuition.
"I have to go, bye grandpa, bye Amy." She pecked her cheek and left.
"You have good friends," Grandpa commented when Lucy was out of sight. Amy bit her lower lip holding a smile.
"I guess I do."
They talked about the city and the hospital when the door was opened and Louise walked in with one packet of fries and a can of her mint chocolate chip ice cream. She received the food and hugged him; he was like a brother to her. "Sometimes I wish you were my hubby Louise," she said affectionately while he patted her head and then someone brushed past them. Oh, the annoying guy, he was here already.
"I ordered food for your grandpa."
Amy sought the man's approval first and when he gave her a thumb up she turned to Louise. "It's fine, go attend to your business now." She pushed him away not wanting him to halt important things for her sake.
"He is a nice man," grandpa commented when she came back.
She nodded and took her fries and ate them as they waited for the old man's food to get there. A worker pushed the trolley containing gruel a while later. "I'll take it from here," she took the bowl and helped the man feed as his precious grandson sat away locked in his phone.
"Have you ever visited your family?" she started coughing, whoa, even her body didn't agree.
"No."
The man didn't ask anymore, he ate in silence until the food was done, letting Amy finally eat her fries and eat her ice cream in peace as the TV played soft music. Amy ended up dozing in the chair and was woken up a while later by cold water sprinkled on her face.
She gritted her teeth and glared at the man before her and looked at the bedside noticing that grandpa wasn't there. She suddenly became alarmed, what happened when she slept? "He is on his way to the villa, you were asleep."
She got up and walked away. She didn't need his explanation and since when did he start explaining anything to her?
"Amy," she stopped but didn't turn back, that was actually the first time he had said her name ever since she moved into his villa, and now she started to assume he had hit his head on a wall on the way here. Jeff walked to her. "He will be staying in the villa until he gets all right"
"So?" Why was he even explaining to her, did it matter, and after all the entire house was his?
"I was going to ask you to personally take care of him."
Amy turned and looked aim in the eye. "Why are you suddenly asking a filthy whore to watch over your grandfather? Don't you have money to hire all the nurses and caretakers in the country? And besides between me and your girlfriend, who is more experienced? Isn't she a doctor, I am only a musician?"
Jeff sighed, this woman, why was she making it hard for him to be nice, especially when he had found out that she had lost her mother years ago and had been oppressed and mistreated by her family? Not to mention that his grandfather had specially asked for him to convince her to watch over him.
"I will be on a business trip and I couldn't think of anyone else besides you know that grandpa likes you more than Stephanie."
Amy suddenly laughed. "Are you kidding me? Between what your grandfather wants and what is good for him, you choose the latter? What if I misunderstand the prescriptions? Are you aware that it would cost him his life? I don't think your girlfriend will be pleased with the little faith you have in her." Amy gave one last look and walked away.
