Chapter 9: Medical room (1)

As soon as we reached the Medical room I placed Damian on the bed and walked around the room to find the first aid bag. There was a medical room but no medical nurse. Where was the nurse? She's probably out-clunking with all the teachers. They usually all go clubbing after they finish the lesson. Nobody apart from the matrons would be in the orphanage, and frankly, the matrons don't care about what happens. So that is why Dylan was able to do as he wished. Damian sat up and watched me look around for the box. "What are you looking for," he asked. " A fist aid box," I muttered rampaging the cupboards above the bed. I looked behind me and finally spotted the bug red Cross ❌. The first aid box. "Do you know how to do first aid?" Damian asked as I opened the box. Of course, I do but I can't say that. "I know a bit as I'm always getting hurt," I replied. Hopefully, that would gain me some sympathy points.

"Where are you hurt?" I asked. Damian pointed at his face, ribs and arm. Dylan must have punched him hard before I arrived. I grab a cotton towel and ran it under cold water. When the whole towel was wet I handed it back to Damian and asked him to place it on his swollen cheeks. I felt around his arm and he had dislocated it. Luckily in my past life, I did first aid training so I knew how to locate it back but I'm afraid to hurt the male lead. I'm not ready to die again. "Do you want the good news first or the bad news?" I asked. He thought for a while and replied " Bad,". I signed and explained, " The bad news is you dislocated your arm... The good news is that I know how to locate it again but it might hurt,". He looked at me and considered his options. A few minutes passed and he nodded. I held on to the top of his arm and gently swinger it around "Do you wanna hear a story?" I asked. Damian nodded in reply. I think telling him a story would smoothen his nerves and distract him. "Once upon a time there was a little girl called Ella. Ella was an only child... Her parents loved her to bits but they left her... Ella was sent to live with her Auntie," I began talking and seeing his face relaxed I hurriedly clicked his arm back into place. His face shook but he didn't cry out. Well, I did expect this from our Male lead. But shouldn't he at least cry it out instead of holding it in? Whatever?. "Better?" I asked when Damien continued to swing his arm. He nodded and I felt relieved.

I looked at him and placed the wet towel on the other side of his face. The left side was looking more swollen than the right side. We wouldn't want the male lead's handsome face to be uneven. I placed my hands near his ribs feeling them until Damian winced. Was I hearing him? I thought it was nothing major. But if he broke his rib bones I don't know what to do. I pulled his shirt off him quite to my shock of Damian. Whilst he was still in shock I looked around his ribs. They didn't look broken just bruised. I gently felt around them and I could tell that they weren't broken. I remember learning from my doctor friends that broken bones symptoms are:

A visibly out-of-place or misshapen limb or joint.

Swelling, bruising or bleeding.

Intense pain.

Numbness and tingling.

Broken skin with bone protruding.

Limited mobility or inability to move a limb.

Apart from some swelling or bruises, there weren't any other symptoms. But just to check I had to ask Damian how he was feeling. His reply made me believe that he hadn't broken his bones. He only feels sore and pain when I press near his wound. I wetted another towel and placed it on his ribs gently. I looked around the room for the ointment to rub on his rib cage. I finally found it as the nurse was quite an organised person. She had carefully placed all the ointments in a box with the word 'Ointment'. I brought the box down from the shelf and began to rummage around it. I finally found it. I grab the ointment and threw it to Damian, I carefully placed the box back on the shelf. I looked around the shelf but there weren't any cotton buds, so I can only use my hands to apply the ointment to his body. I went towards the sink and washed my hands. Drying my hands I walked toward Damian's side and proceeded to ask him to lie down for me to apply the ointment.
