Chapter 23: It tastes really nice

"No reason," Uncle Roberts replied looking away. Really? So suspicious. "What's the apple for?" Damian asked whilst pointing at the pile of apples. I glanced at Ryan as he laughed out loud, smiling I replied: "I wanted to drink apple juice but I can't seem to find the machine. So now there is a whole pile of apples. We can give it to the poor when we go on our way tomorrow. Apples can fill people up,". Can they even make apple juice here? I know that apples can fill you up because I used to only eat an apple for lunch when I was dieting. Of course, I would go hungry but I learnt that drinking water can also help. Hence I had really clear skin and I was healthy. Too healthy for my liking even when I was always in my room. That seems to be quite a while ago. Uhhh, stop thinking about that.

After I finished cooking everyone helped bring all the clean plates I washed out, along with the cutlery. "What's all this young miss?" a knight asked as he helped me carry the food. "I cooked something," I replied shyly "Please try some,". The knights nodded.

When we sat down, Damian, Uncle Robert and Ryan all had a single omelette. As for the knights and the butler they had 5 omelettes in between them. I gazed at everyone as they carefully cut the omelette and placed it in their mouth. "How is it?" I asked. Uncle Robert finished chewing and replied "It's good," everyone also nodded at his words. I cut some of my eggs and placed them in my mouth. Immediately I could see that the taste was not quite right. There wasn't enough seasoning. "It doesn't taste that good. You don't have to eat it," I muttered. Ryan shook his head and answered truthfully "I've never had anything as good as this,". I arched my eyebrows in a questioning manner and everyone nodded in confirmation. Do they all have weird taste buds or something? Perhaps it was because the people in this world hadn't eaten an omelette before. The cheese omelette that I used to eat was the best, maybe next time if I have the best ingredients I can make it again for them. I wonder if there would be a next time. Not long after we finished our food I headed up to my room and bid Ryan and Damian goodnight. Ryan smiled at me but Damian only glared at me. Ah, What exactly is his problem? Can't he just be nice?

Damian POV:

You can't blame me for thinking that you don't know how to cook. In my previous life when I first met you, you were already a mean a** bully. And it got worse when you became Princess Camilla. But the strange thing is that you aren't a bully anymore this time. How could someone just become kind? There sure is something fishy about this. Whatever. I want to see how long it will be before she starts treating me harshly. We will be meeting Lexi soon. And according to what happened last lifetime, I still have to suffer a few years of Lexi bullying but now both of the devils will be in the same house. Life would be even more of a horror...

Uncle Roberts POV:

Oh gosh, Camilla, what sort of life have you been living? You should have been the daughter of the most valuable couple. The little princess. Everyone would've been underneath you, but because of that one particular maid, you lost everything a normal royal princess would have grown up. You would never have to learn how to cook, or clean but only live a happy life.
